just so I don't keep filling up the forum with like 60000 bands that no one has heard of ^_^

Eyvind Kang - very beautiful experimental classical stuff. I don't know how much I'll actually listen to it but its certainly impressive

http://www.myspace.com/eyvindkang1

isildurs bane - cool prog/neoclassical chamber rock stuff

www.myspace.com/ibexpo

Examination of The... - Very good post-metal/sludge. Not original but worth hearing if you like Minsk, Isis, Eden Maine etc... couldn't find audio samples anywhere :(

Minsk - speaking of them, they're a great sludge metal band. Like Isis infused with being really pissed off. For me it brings to mind two giants beating the shit out of each other with lava and lightning.

Eyvind Kang... So you found him too? Mesmerizing, is it not?

Check Tan Dun if you like him, especially the composition 2000 Today - World Symphony for the Millenium.

since every missed my thread i made in the rock forum here's Minus the Bear. They're laid back atmospheric rock but with a bit of a mathy side and some King Crimson-ish guitar interplay. I use them to relax whenever I have a headache :P

both of these are fairly well known but if you havent heard them then you suckK!

Neurosis - proving people who say music is just entertainment wrong. Probably the best band on the planet.

Red Sparowes - extraordinairy, epic, post-rock type music

Today be the day for sludgecore, cause I feel like it.

The Ocean Collective - a really huge sounding band, not in an Isis type way, but like Mastodon on steroids or being German or something like that, that plays really brutal, composed music. Their first album Fluxion had some cool progressive stuff like orchestral sections. The other half of the album, Aeolian, is more just all out brutality.

Intronaut - their first EP, Null, was intriguing but not really good. I just downloaded Void last night and it is awesome since they're getting better with their proggy stuff, and their bassist is great.

Keelhaul - Uhh... cool sludgecore, not especially special, but still very enjoyable.

Experimental hardcore type stuff day!, yay

Thoughts of Ionesco - one of the earlier bands to mix technical stuff with hardcore. they split up a while ago but just released a greatest hits of sorts...

www.myspace.com/ionesco

Dazzling Killmen - as far as I know the first tech-core band, i don't like them much but here you go:

The Mass - awesome genre mixing stuff that sounds a lot less fragmented than most. They also have a saxaphonist, which is damn cool. Their albums were recorded without protools which gives them a very fitting, dirty sound that I

Time of Orchids - beautiful atmospherics interruped by disorienting blasts of metal rhythms. Anybody here who likes avant-guarde stuff like Kayo Dot should hear this.

It's ok, I realized a few months ago that I listen to music for totally different reasons than other people

Anyway here's a cool proggy/indie type band called Aereogramme. I bought their album a while ago blindly and didn't like it, then decided to listen to it again when I saw they did a split with Isis. And its like teh kewl... covers lots of styles n' stuff.
