Yep, I was once a huge ICP fan. Mainly because my sense of humor is retarded. I began listening to them in 1992 in high school. Prior to The Great Milenko coming out, though, the fans weren't what they are now. Sure, they wore face paint—which, for the record, I never once did or thought was cool—but they weren't idiots like they are now. Once Milenko was banned 6 hours after its release and all the controversy ensued it was downhill.
A shortwhile after that I stopped wearing my shirts because morons would see me and throw up weird gang sings and go, "WHAT UP, JUGGALO? MUCH CLOWN LOVE!!" What in the fuck? Seriously, I've never felt ashamed for wearing a shirt until that day. Hahaha.
I still like them, though. I'm cool with Mike E. Clark, their longtime producer, but he quit working with them a few years back and they started to suck. With rap the beats need to be good, otherwise the lyrics are worthless, and let's not pretend that ICP are very poetic with their lyrics now. Hahaha. I just always found them to be funny and different, they had a gimmick, but they also had a really unique concept behind their main albums, but then they got rich and thought they could fool people into thinking their message has always been about God! Hahahaha. And people bought it. That was the sad part. Sure, they had a lot of good vs. evil themes, but it was not Godly in anyway! Eating dead bodies, fucking dead bodies, killing people, etc., that's Godly? Pffft!
I remember a few years back they released a single called "Juggalo Homies," I took the instrumental and in about 20 minutes wrote some lyrics and recorded my own song called "Juggalo Phony" dissing their new producer. Hahaha. Holy shit I thought I was going to die! Every ICP website, including the official site, posted the song. ICP called for my murder! Hahahaha. Hilarious! Considering that an army ICP fans once trashed a St. Louis radio station and kicked the shit out of a DJ that once talked shit about ICP, I wasn't too happy about my newfound popularity. Luckily I didn't go by Eyesore, I went by The Carnival Disciple. Hahaha. So retarded.
Good times, though. Anyway, I am still a fan, but I sold all the rare shit I had (and I had everything) for about $2,000 on eBay. Now I just have the main albums, but nothing recent since they all suck. Mike E. Clark is doing their next album, though. He's awesome, so hopefully it'll be good. He didn't buy the God shit either, that's why he left.
But I agree, ICP fans are complete fucking morons! But ICP knows this and they're making millions off of them. ICP could manufacture a hardened piece of horseshit with ICP written on it and ICP fans would fucking buy it in the tens of thousands!! They're retarded, but sometimes that's a good thing, for the artist anyway.
