The Media Markt near where I live has some CD's that seem metal but that I don't really know...
some names are: Arcturus, Felony, Cataract, Decapitated....
I can't remember all of em now but are any of these bands good?

Get the Arcturus and Decapitated, ignore Cataract unless you like Hardcore.

Decapitated-really Brutal Death Metal. Good shit, if you're into that.

Arcturus-Progressive Black-ish Metal. masters of their art, tell us the album title and we can give you better direction.

Cataract-as Zad said, Hardcore nonsense. Avoid.

Felony-I don't know, but it sounds like Hardcore, so avoiding would be a good idea.

Arcturus - I like the sham mirrors but never got into the rest of their stuff
Cataract are pretty decent, although you'd have to be into the metalcore thing
Decapitated are one of the better brutal/technical death bands I've ehard.

it's the only arcturus they have... and frankly, I think I should be grateful I'm getting ANYTHING scandinavian south of the alps...

Pick it up then, it's pretty good. It doesn't have Garm, but Vortex is more than capable.

right. So I should get Decapitated, Arcturus....

They also had Carcass' HEartwork and the DualDisc version of Slaughter Of The Soul. Now THAT was surprising!

Get the Carcass, ignore the ATG unless you're a melodeath fa- umm, fan.

I dled ATG and Carcass, actually like ATG more... but Heartwork seems worth buying just cuz of the kickass cover by HR. Giger...

...Ah, so it was the melodic metal band Felony! I just glanced at this thread and was like "Felony? How weird. Could it be...?" coz I had just recently discovered this band myself :) From what I've heard wasn't as good as I expected, not bad, but maybe a bit average... They've had some good reviews though and the album was produced by Sascha Paeth!

Uh, and I thought the best thing about Heartwork was the actual song Heartwork... which kicks ass!!! Haven't actually heard most of the other songs though...
Didn't know it was a Giger cover. I don't really like it though. I like painted covers <3
