This is a thread I meant to start a long time ago but either forgot to, lost interest or I actually posted it and it shot to the bottom so quickly even I forgot about it. SO: This is the thread where you bitch about people wasting their powers in shitty bands, or people who have lost it in spectacular fashion. Now, by this I don't means "zomgzors 'tallica sold out!" What I mean is people like Jeff Waters, an utterly spectacular guitarist who hasn't written an altogether good album in, what, 16 years? Or, on the the other hand, Sharon den Adel - what a beautiful voice. Really, really honest to God angelic - and what's she doing with it? Chasing the mallgoth bandwagon. And....go! |

I can only thik of bands that are wasting their time, who have released great albums, but then pissed all over themselves, ie: Children of Bodom - Warman can still play the keyboard (as seen on the new warmen), and alexi can play live, so why cant they write a decent album? Satyricon - I mean, Frost is in other bands that are decent, so why cant he do anything here? Fenriz - Not that he's wasting time in Darkthrone, but i'd love to see him go solo more, and make some more Isengard stuff. His singing voice is excellent. |

Elisa C. Martin - Dark Moor was awesome, Fairyland was quite good, and Dreamaker is mediocre. Daniel Heiman - Neither Heed nor Crystal Eyes can touch Lost Horizon. By the way, his vocal performance in Heed and CE was a far cry from his performance in LH. Admit it: YOU NEED WOJTEK YOU FUCKING CLOWN! Dream Theater - Some of the best musicians in metal playing wanky showoff metal with the approximate feeling of a brickwall. Michael Kiske - No comments needed. |

Dragonforces guitar dueo - Their talent on the guitar far outstrips thier song writing. |

Andrea Ferro - the guy's got an incredible growl, he should be in his own band instead of doing backing vocals which either bloody guitarist could. |

Def Leppard-went from a great NWOBHM band, to one of the best selling acts of all time. Now they are reduced to hiring writers from the Backstreet Boys and making cmpletely soulless garbage. Oh, and a Covers album, yay! |

I agree with "following the reaper" on COB and Fenriz. -Nuclear Holocausto & rest of Beherit: Why GOD? WAAAAAHHYY? These guys some of the most original and greatest records of all time. But now they're doing ambient crap. Anyone can do ambient, come back to black metal you cunts. -Garm & rest of Ulver: Copy the exact same paragraph above, except change ambient with electronica and shit. -Varg: Oh no you don't you son of a bitch. You got everyones hopes high and now you say maybe you won't do another Burzum, I'll kick your ass. - Ihsahn, Trym, Samoth: Yeah, they all did pretty good albums after the split up, but no matter what, they should restart Emperor. |

Decrepit Birth (the new samples are fucking amazing) on and time begins, this album has like super awesome musicianship but doesnt flow for me.. Same goes from Disgorge (USA) on Parallels of infinite torture. Between the Buried and Me.. These guys know how to play they just need fucking ideas. Origin. Almost the same situation of DB and Disgorge. |

Soilwork, Dream Theater, The Mars Volta, EDIT: i'll add opeth too, since their last 3 albums have been lame. and as for Ulver, I prefer Blood inside and Perdition city to bergtatt |

Deliverance might have had some weak points but nothing near to "lame". Damnation was a brilliant work of Psychedelic Rock. As for their latest, the album starts very well, but it does appear to get a bit disappointing towards the end, though. As for Ulver, comparing their old material to their 180 degree of change does not happen in my book, as I only see them evolving into a more obscure and challenging Landscape of music. |
