Post subject: The End Records Is Losing It!
PostPosted: Thu Apr 20, 2006 5:43 am
What the fuck are they doing? Once their prices were lower than the rest, now they're the same. Sure, the no S&H is still good, but no longer does it feel like a real deal. Not only that, they're selling more and more mainstream, non-metal bullshit and even horror movies?! WTF? For instance, the most recent update consists of:

AIDEN - Our Gang's Dark Oath
DOG FASHION DISCO - Adultery
DRESDEN DOLLS, THE - Yes, Virginia... (digi)
HILLS HAVE EYES, THE - DVD
I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE - DVD
LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, THE - DVD
MARTIN - DVD
NINE INCH NAILS - Every Day is Exactly the Same
OPUS DAI - Tierra Tragame
PATH OF RESISTANCE - Can't Stop the Truth
PHOENIX MOURNING - When Excuses Become Antiques
SCISSORFIGHT - Jaggernaut
SICK OF IT ALL - Death to Tyrants
V/A - Coachella DVD
YES - 90125 Live DVD

Now, I'm not going to trash talk the bands because I like a lot of them, but The End never used to sell a bunch of shit I can find in Best Buy! Now a good majority of their updates contain albums that we can find anywhere! Looks like Sentinel Steel is going to start getting more of my business.

Holy shit man I am so happy you have the balls to criticize that corrupted juggernaut of a metal distro!!

I was once one of their greatest customers a few years ago; I most likely bought 100 albums from them in a two year period.

I don't buy from them anymore, and I have criticized them on other internet forums, but I was afraid to start a thread here because the end has partnerships with so many people now.

Their prices have skyrocketed, and their selection has become crap-infested; however, I stopped buying from them because they jerked me around on two orders that "dissappeared" in the mail. They weren't nice about it either. I think I still have the old emails to at least one of the exchanges. If someone is interested PM and I will try to post them to you.

Fuck the End.

I stopped buying from the end records a while ago. Their prices went up and their selection has become pretty damn sucky. Sentinel Steel and ebay for me.

I remember those days when TER was so cheap.

However, I think you really just have to shop around for the best deals.

CDInzane has pissed me off to no end lately, so I've cut back on them. I've started ordering more with TER because while they are starting to get some mainstream/weird stuff, they still get the releases I care about. Plus the fact that shipping is still free and I receive their packages fast. (CDInzane takes forever)

I used to order tons from TER, then stopped once they raised prices and had shitty packaging, now I've picked up again. Also use LaserCD, but I don't like the way they list CD's and their shipping can rack up fast.

CDInzane, TER, LaserCD, Amazon, etc. Search for what works for you!

Nowadays, TER has only the free shipping as their competitive advantage. The day that is gone, TER is too (for shopping).

Maybe they are betting on the label business for the future. :? They have signed pretty good bands.

I'll still buy some things from The End, but a while back I would buy tons of CDs from them because they were like $11, no S&H. Why would I buy the new Sick Of It All from them for like $13.99 when I bought it at Best Buy for $6.99?

EBay is starting to suck now, too. There are hardly any people auctioning items, it's become a fucking on-line store! 90% of the "auctions" are Buy-It-Now items in an eBay Store. The prices aren't cheap either. Not only that, you've got the bootleg sellers just fucking everything up.

Pfffft!

Indeed. The End was a place of great musical wealth at one point. I've gotten a ton of good stuff from them in the past. It's been sad to see them turn to hell.

I remember hearing that The End was really good with low prices and stuff, checking it out and saying "$15 per CD? I've seen better deals at FYE." :?

I have a friend who runs a Black Metal shop, so I don't need The End. 8)

You can still find some good deals there, but generally in the past all the CDs were a good deal except those that were strict imports that they had to sell at a higher price, and even then they always apologized for it.

This is just the label getting a taste of that mainstream business. It sucks. I'll still buy from them, but not nearly as much. I'm not going to pay $13.99 or $14.99 for a CD I can get at Best Buy for cheaper and not have to wait a week to get it.

I guess I missed the Awesome train, and The End has gone with it. :(

I'm definately considering buying maybe one CD from them, being the only place I can find some Funeral Mist, but other than that...

That's unfortunate.I have not ordered from them myself, but it is sad to one's reliable sources drop in quality.I must say though that of all online shops,Willowtip has impressed me the most.Just las week I woke up and checked my e-mail and read the new re-stocks and what not.I couldn't believe what I saw,Lykathea Aflame and !.T.O.O.H.! just sitting there for like $8 bucks or something like that with no S&H charges if I recall.I quickly snapped them up before heading to work and immediately I received comformation and package shipment notice e-mails and got them in like a couple of days in great condition.Every time I order from them I get my crap for dirt cheap and quite hastily might I add.

It was a real treat because I had all but given up on finding Elvenefris, and then wam there it is!Anyway I had to share my fun little moment.

No problem man.

I go there alot, they mainly carry death metal, black metal, grind and gore related stuff, though they often will bring in some other stuff every now and then.As you probably know Willowtip is the record label that has Arsis,Phobia,Gorod(I love 'em!),Dim Mak(Knives of Ice is a very fun and impressive album),capharnaum, crotchduster, the Necrophagist re-release(thank the gods!) and many others.Jason Tipton is the man behind my favorite label, which is saying something because they are pretty new to the scene and have been busting their asses to get where they are.I support them as much as possible.

Anyway,I hope you find something there you like. The prices are great and S&H is free if I recall.Willowtip.com
