If you write songs, what band or artist would you liken your style to? For myself, despite all my doomy leanings, my music most strikingly resembles the work of italian alt.rock/prog band Moongarden, with a little King Crimson/Voivod atonal mode progression thrown in there to dull the poppy edge. |

My natural playing style is punk/hardcore with some serious 80's rock vibes. Everyone makes fun of my songs because of that 80's hook! Hahaha. I wish I could play metal, but it's just not there with me, I can't do it. |

Hmm, well one of my old lecturers said he thought I sound a lot like Joe Henderson, which I think is quite valid, and also flattering ![]() Coltrane was always a monumental influence for me though, and more recently I've been wanting to integrate some Jerry Bergonzi techniques. I don't really write songs, though, just play them. But I was fairly proud of the rearranging I did of Opeth's Benighted, and some Fugazi song off Repeater that I've forgotten the name of. (d'oh) |

There are simply too many musicians that have had a major influence on my playing to mention here. I'm not in a band at the moment, so i'll just try to give some sort of description of my guitar playing style. My metal riffs range from sludgy Black Sabbath-worship to semi-techy thrash, often spiced up with some quirky dissonance. My lead playing ranges from crappy to tolerable ![]() I also like to play some jazzy blues and good old-fashioned rock occasionally. I prefer not to fuck around with effects processing much, but i like to get different tones by using varying levels of distortion, different EQ settings and altering my touch. I play mostly in standard tuning, because i like the tightness it gives to my sound. |

I've never been in a full time band but I did vocals here and there. I can't really say influences but I've realized and told by other people that my growls sound like Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity. But what I really love to do is sing Pig Destroyer songs because I love those crazy scream/yells. And the few things that I've written... well... maybe in a few months you guys will hear them and tell me who I have copied. Haha. Let me give you a hint, starts with a "D" and ends with an "arkthrone". |

i play drums in a band with people who like pop-punk and one of them likes fake screamo. And I don't listen to that kind of music, so I just try to do my best to fit the music. I'd like to add some creativity to some of instead of just playing basic punk beats, but it's hard because they write weird guitar parts. |

well, i play in 3 bands: one 'metal' one but our style is an attempt to mix maiden with blind guardian and fail miserably. One is just a alt rock one à la Absynthe Minded and one where we only play covers of various metal legends. i hope i could be a drummer like the one on the wintersun album but i don't have the talent |

I write music all over the place, I'm eclectic (i.e. can't make up my fucking mind). Even when I have a fair amount of material in a single genre, individual songs go their own way and don't quite sound like eachother. |

I sing I'd love to be Mike Patton but I'm just Stefan so usually it's a mix of alt. rock, pop, blues, metal... I scream here and there, change my voice a lot (from Gothic low voice to pop high voice) but I've never been able to find the right partners to put out the music I'd really like to... not yet anyway... :? |

I growl/screech. I can switch between the two fairly well, and sound decent. However, I can't keep it up for longer than four minutes at a time without getting a shredded throat. |

A proggy kind of Metal with some Death Metal elements, and influences from everywhere and a half. I can't really describe it that well. It'll be the next big, big thing, I tell you! |
