I don't think this topic has been discussed in depth before, at this site. So I have two points for discussion: 1) What are people's favourite soundtracks? I was thinking about how much Goblin's work on Suspiria rules, and that inspired this particular question. 2) Are there any really good metal film soundtracks? Because if there are I don't think I've heard them... |

Anthrax did a pretty, erm, crappy one for Ghosts of Mars. Edit: Forgot to mention my own favourites Conan the Barbarian Lord of the Rings trology Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Plus some less epic stuff like The Terminator, Robocop, Predator - a lot of 80s action films had really great scores. |

I like soundtracks to films I never saw: Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds Ulver - Lyckantropen Themes Ulver - Svidd Neger Boris - Sound Track from Film "Mabuta No Ura" And if we are speaking about the ones I did see then the only one I can mention is La Marche De L'Empereur OST (it's also known as The March of the Penguins, but the English one has a different soundtrack). I don't like the ones which are consisting of various composers (or bands). Imo, a composer should make the soundtrack specially for the film and not just pick random songs from his/her album that seem to fit the mood of the film. For a good soundtrack should be an album on it's own and not just a compilation of songs. |

Yes! I love soundtracks. After metal, it's my most active genre. My favs depend on what mood I'm in.. if I'm in a metal mood, then some of the better ones are Last Knight - the best battle soundtrack IMO Starship Troopers Conan the Barbarian - finally re-released Crimson Tide - 2nd best by Zimmer Lord of the Rings Gladiator - best by Zimmer I've yet to check out Kingdom of Heaven, but something tells me I should. Pirates of the Caribbean - this one is like an amalgamation of all Hans Zimmer's soundtracks, i.e. really good unless you've heard all his other ones. |

I liked the Planet Of the Apes and Batman soundtracks a lot.. but I'm guessing you're referring to Edward Scissorhands and Nightmare Before Christmas? |

I like most of his work... and yes, I LOVE the St to The Nightmare Before Christmas. |

Agreed on all these, especially on Gladiator and not so much on Ali... that one didn't grab me like those did. That's about all I own in the area of soundtracks, but they're all very good. |

Well, the Ali soundtrack in general sucks, she has one song on the regular soundtrack and two on the More Songs From Ali version, or its the other way around. If I recall, now that I think about it, the song on the main soundtrack is on her Mirror Pool album. She's amazing either way. I can't wait for the new Dead Can Dance album. |

Radagast just posted near enough exactly what I was going to, even though I don't own any of those soundtracks I enjoy them emmensely. I just spelt that wronng. |

The new soundtrack for the Advent Rising game is pretty kick ass. Charlotte Martin sings on three songs. |

I only ever listen to her songs anyway, so I couldn't testify as to the quality of the rest of the record. They announced a new album? I thought it was just a cash-grab tour. Well, in any case, if they release one more goddamned 'best of,' and it's missing any songs from the debut... then it's a-murderin' time. |
