I have a 20 GB iPod. So I organized mine into albums. I'm thinking about making a play list like that though, that way I get a variety. |

I've heard too much stuff about how bad iPods are to get one. Wouldn't mind a Creative one, though, one I can fit every album I own on. |

Yeah I'm thinking about buying a 30 or 40 gig one. The size aspect doesn't really bother me, they aren't much bigger than the minidisc player I've been using for 4-5 years now. |

To me, there's no point getting one unless it's a biggie. I could just as easily get an MP3-CD player and burn a couple of CDs. A lot cheaper, and easier to replace. iPods are, after all, just the new fad. Still, it saved Apple from fading away completely, which as an ex-Mac user is a good thing. |

You realise when I say size I mean length/breadth/depth, ja? 30-40 gigs is plenty space for me. |

30-40 gigs is plenty space for me. Oh, aye. Just making the point. That's how many albums, btw? Would suck to get one then have to leave an album out. |

depends on the bitrate. at 128kbps a 50 minutes album takes up around 45Mb. but some people can't stand 128kbps. |

Best quality, of course. best quality is pretty ambiguous thanks to all the different audio codecs.. using the same LAME codec as I did for the 128kbps, a 320kbps mp3 would obviously be 2.5 times as big, so like 132.5Mb, derf derf, but then there's AAC and AAC+, OGG, monkey's, musepack etc even before we begin to talk about variable bit rate. I just use 128kbps because I'm not proud and my ears are too fuxed at this point to distinguish anything higher.. |

How amny can you fit on at 128kbps? ok, everything on the list I made above is at 128kbps, together has a duration of 43 hours and takes up around 2.3g. so a 40g player can take about 750 hours - a month of music - @ 128kbps. probably even more.. my player is billed as 2.5g but some of the space is already taken by hidden stuff so I can't be all that accurate. |
