Working through this 4 disc collection. Art Blakey was a foundational figure-head and a man of considerable musical influence and position. The sound of this recording is excellent, considering it was produced just about 70 years ago. Shall be enjoying this very much.

The 'fits were never more fun than they were here. A bloody funhouse ride filled to the rafters with big, bone rattling riffs, groovy hooks and more vampiric swagger than you can shake a stake at.
