I know people like Steve, me, and Grandbazaar still buy music but what about the rest of you? Are you content with just DL music or content with what you have at the moment in your collection? Is it a money issue or have you lost interest in buying music in general due to DL being so easy and accessible?

I buy mp3s from bandcamp/itunes because I want to give money to bands I like but I don't post about it because I'm lazy and it's not metal or music people here care about. Physical music lost its appeal when I moved and have no desire to lug it all across the country.

I still love buying the physical copy, looking at the artwork, and having a physical library I can refer to. I sold 99% of my music library over the summer because of money issues but I'm building it back slowly.

A couple purchases a year, same as the last several years.

With the advent of Spotify i rarely buy physical disc anymore. I only buy CDs if it's not available on Spotify or Bandcamp usually and I too, (like noodles said) don't have room for more CDs. So that's my reason.

I can't afford to right now. I used to have over 300 albums.

I still attend concerts and buy t-shirts once in a while though.

Still only buy CDs but at a very slow pace relative to the average CD buyer (1 or 2 albums a month).

Yep. Also get a fair amount of promotional stuff.

This. I probably will keep buying the media until it becomes obsolete.

Buying less and less since I got my new house

But my Evoken album should be in about 30 minutes or so now.

I will always buy the physical copy if it's available. Same with books and newspapers. But I live in a big house and have the room for a music library. That being said, I do keep all my music on an external hard drive in case of a fire, god forbid.

Yeah, when I can and especially when I can't download it. Money won't keep me away from a great album that I wanna hear, I will put out the money and I like to buy new copies so hopefully me buying it will influence a reorder from the label.

Believe me, if I had even a decent paying job, I would buy everything at the rate of spending at least a couple hundred a month, but I feel I've paid my dues after buying about 600 CD's before I was 25. I think it's a bit harsh to say I shouldn't be able to listen to an album because the money really isn't there. I think music should be socialist with everyone taking what they need and buying what they can afford. What's wrong with that?

Be careful. Lars Ulrich can hear you.

I'd be more worried about Ken returning.

Oh I was just referencing his obsession with calling people out on downloading, and he is more likely to appear here than Lars. But yeah, there is that too.

I spend entirely too much money on iTunes and Amazon every month.
