I would expect it is highly reviewed and gets a good score, which of course is fine. As for me, I'm not gonna listen to it: I'm done with Opeth until Akerfeldt stops being a hippie.

My aim is to write a review so good that you have to listen to it! ;)

Never gonna happen! Too bad, because I was quite happy with Opeth in the Watershed era.

Not loving the new Petrov-Entombed track. Starts like Say It in Slugs but really can't keep it up.

Hope the Hellid/Cederland version can do better...

From Opeth's upcoming album. Cusp of Eternity. Listen to it while you can.

I liked it once the soloing began, but before that.... Hmmmm. Better be something more exciting up your sleeve, Akky old lad.

Hey, though, at least it's nowhere near as terrible as the new Wolves in the Throne Room track:

http://www.stereogum.com/1683632/wolves ... rror/mp3s/

which is one of the worst pieces of new-age bullshit I've heard since Dauði Baldrs. Don't take drugs and play with keyboard effects, kids.

Was neither awful nor especially good. Womp womp.

And that Opeth track sounds like them attempting to be Ghost doesn't it? That was bad. Needs more acoustic Demon of the Fall.

New Overkill album in July. They've been on a roll lately so my expectations are fairly high.

Update: Nuclear Blast releases new single and video to Overkill's upcoming album White Devil Armory. Another solid, balls out slab o' thrash from Oldreliable. A first day buy for sure.

Septicflesh's new album streaming in full. I've only listened to the first track. Going to save the rest upon its release.

i heard a few songs from Fragments of Form and Function and thought they slowed down way too much, despite some awesome moments. this new song is badass. like the star of david bit in the black metal part of the video

Taint's guitarist/singer started a new band called HARK that sounds like Taint. They released an album this year. I'm ok with this.

Speaking of actual new black metal, new Abigor is imminent, and there'll be a new Darkspace album in September.

Indeed, however, since May when it was announced they were recording this year I have seen nothing new, so I'm gonna have to backtrack a bit and say early next year looks more reasonable. Either way, I'm quite excited because Aaron said 80% death metal vocals this time, and even given his propensity to exaggerate that sounds like more than half :dio:

Since you're talking about MDB, I was wondering what you guys make of Evinta which had many good reviews but gets thrashed pretty mercilessly on MA?
