Which method do you predominantly prefer/use for collecting your music? Why?

Me personally, I like to get CDs whenever I can because I like having a physical collection.

I prefer a physical copy whenever possible. Unfortunately the local record stores carry about the worst selection of "metal" cds you'll find anywhere on the planet so I do use iTunes a lot. I make sure to place orders on Amazon.com and other places a couple of times a year though so I still get those physical copies coming in as well.

I transitioned from CDs to records because I liked the sound and process of listening to vinyl, but then when I started playing more instruments I stopped setting aside time to sit and listen to music (these days it's a walking w/ headphones thing), so I stopped buying records and now I buy stuff on bandcamp/cdbaby/itunes because I don't care about a physical collection and just want to give the band my money for making cool music. It's hard to remember what I've bought though.

Cds for different reasons from purchasing my favorites to complete holes in my physical collection, and lossless for stuff that is harder/impossible to find as a cd.

I don't have the space for CDs. Mainly make purchases off of bandcamp.

Tired of the space they take up - I only buy CDs if itunes doesn't carry it. Plus, I have stripped all the but the disc and sleeve and put all of my CDs in a nifty case.
