Yes I know Metal Reviews is the best on the net and certainly my number 1.

But what other Metal sites do you visit?

-For me:

Metal Archives (for artwork to post on Metal Reviews)
www.metal-archives.com

Brave Words Bloody Knuckles - Cannuck Metal Mag

http://www.bravewords.com/

Blabbermouth
www.blabbermouth.net

Wikipedia - I shit you not. Their release schedules are usually easier to navigate and more comprehensive than most metal sites.

Even though I love the magazine, Terrorizer's page layout is shitful.

Metal-archives for reviews on obscure stuff and discographies .. plus it just comes up on Google all the time so I end up there by default.

Wikipedia for band history. Metal-archives could do a lot better in that department.

I think here, Metal Archives, and Wikipedia are on the ones I visit on a regular basis. Every now and then I'll check out Metal Rules, Blabbermouth, and Metal CD Ratings.

doom-metal.com (got a position reviewing there)

metal-archives.com (finding newer bands, buying/trading cds)

forum.terrorizer.com (posting there as well)

Hmm, good luck with that. Good site, but some of those guys seem thin-skinned.

bnrmetal.com is alright. Use to go there before I knew about metalarchives.com.

Metal Archives of course.
Metal Observer, a whole bunch of reviews.

But nothing compares to Metal Reviews.

And occasionally, from time to time, check out:
Metal Rules, Sea Of Tranquility, Metal Crypt (annoying), Lords Of Metal and Metal Storm, for infos and stuff.

Other...? There are others?

No but seriously, Blabbermouth if I'm bored enough. I hate that design though, it looked outdated years ago and feels even worse now. To be frank, I'm not that interested in metal news anyway so I rarely go there by now. I used to keep up on everything, but I started to lose interest and figured if the news was interesting enough it'd be discussed here anyway. As I've found out, that's not the case but I'm too lazy to go back and read blabber on a regular basis again :)

I also used to visit the Sweden Rock Festival message board, it's a pretty big community but I stopped doing that too. So for me Metal Reviews is the only one left standing.

I just visit metal-archives (ignore the forum) and also visit doom-metal.com. Plenty enough for me.

I should visit Invisible Oranges more often. The quality of material there is generally top-notch.

Used to be better, but yes, still very interesting and thoughtful.

Metal Forum

http://www.metalforum.com

this was good but has been totally ruined by "updates" and "improvements" so now I'm only using it for a few threads I had started looking for recs

Western Front

http://www.wf.com.au

unfortunately this sites forum is no longer active but it deals exclusively with Australian metal bands, including a comprehensive list of bands state-by-state, upcoming gigs etc

was also on doommantia forums but my account mysteriously vanished so I gave that one up

I like Teufel's Tomb (www.teufelstomb.com).

He reviews shitloads of underground Grind and brutal Death Metal (great place for discovering this sort of music) and he's been at it since the 90s, so as far as the internet is concerned, he's a wise old man.

Also, everything he writes is completely tongue-in-cheek and if he doesn't like an album he totally shits all over it exessively and he gets all this angry fanboy hatemail, which he replies to sarcastically, and he posts it all on the site and some of it is funny as fuck.

Great site.

Edit: Also, metalsucks.net can be very funny and entertaining.

I get new from Metal Sucks. They repost most blabbermouth things I'm interested in. Obvious mentions of Wikipedia and Metal Archives. I really dig Invisible Oranges, but feel like it would be a huge time suck if I really kept up with what they post.

Like most here, metal archives, blabbermouth (for the posters' comments, not the reviews), and metalcrypt. As mentioned in the initial post, Wikipedia also gives very good info on some lesser known bands.
