Dysrhythmia - Test of Submission

The drummer is quite skilled he stops inbetween tapping cymbals and doing intermittent fills amidst the ever changing riffs. These guys clearly have some training in jazz, though the riffs really aren't my thing they remind me of some of the stuff from Blotted Science's album except with less djenty riffs and far more varied drumming. Not my thing but I liked the slowdown from the craziness around 2:50.

Destiny's End - The Fortress Unvanquishable. The vocals were a little grating at first, but I got behind them, to a degree, as the song went on. They're a tad awkward. I feel like if this had been written five years later there would be double bass drums that would ruin it. Solid choice, Steve. 8/10.

Gospel are/were the best band. Don't think I've ever heard anything much like them.

I've had a couple of songs get solid ratings (and one that would have if it were rated by anyone but Tehom) but yes it seems everyone hates what everyone else likes

I wouldn't say that we all hate each others music, but it seems that way. I for one will check The Flight of Sleipnir , trapedunderice put one of their songs here and they sound good.

but I'm not racist, I didn't like that particular song or band because I have a theory that if you're going to sing in another language your singer should have something special about him or her to overcome the language barrier, check out Mago De Oz they sing in what I think is Spanish but the singer is phenomenal so it isn't off putting

This. Our musical tastes cross paths with each other's once in a while. It's weird. Maybe now that a few more people are here and a lot of people aren't maybe it's time for me to stop assuming that everyone's heard everything I ever have. The few bands I think are head and above Priest and Maiden classics I haven't mentioned in forever. Maybe it's time to see if the new guys wanna check it out.

Uhh, I give the last song a 7/10. Not enough notes and not in the right octave for me.

A band that got absolutely atrocious reviews from MR, Dungeon, performing Queen of the Ryche. Lord Tim is not the same kind of singer as Tate, but his performance here makes you wonder what Todd is doing in the band with a talent pool this deep:

Dungeon - Queen of the Reich. Idk what to say about this given that I haven't really dug music like this in a while. The drumming production is awful. The song is pretty decent melodic heavy metal. I don't love the vocals. There is an obvious reason why other bands came to the fore rather than these guys. 4/10

Kyle liked what I posted and I liked what he posted as well. Alex, Emperor, Zad, and some others share common interests. It's just that we know each other for a long time so naturally our tastes in musical will differ inevitably.

This is why I hate youtube. The track is in mono and phase differences do not sound good when forced into a mono fold down.

this thread really exposes just how different people's tastes are, it's actually working better here (more variety of music and opinion) then it does on the forum I took the idea from though it isn't quite as fluent, the problem on the original forum (where I sourced the idea) is that only a couple of people ever post in it and we all have pretty similar tastes, I'll post a relatively unknown tech-death band, it gets a good rating, next guy posts something else which gets a good rating, there's really only one person who's hit or miss because he posts largely retro-thrash bands that totally suck, but will then post a classic Maiden or Priest song to make up for it
