Please.

There's really nothing new coming out anymore that has me interested. Thomas just found some awesome new band he posted about in the other thread, and I want more! I don't care if it's death, thrash, black, doom, heavy, whatever. If you think I may like it then give me somewhere to start and I will give them all an honest effort. I'm just getting tired of looking through the same list of artists and albums over and over again. I haven't been wowed by a new band since Slough Feg. I don't expect anybody to find me anything similar to that, but just something new I can enjoy would be awesome.

Thank you in advance, fuckers.

Ancestors - In Dreams and Time

John Zorn/Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz - Abraxas
(jewish metal, not kidding!)

Would Jewish metal be considered the opposite of what Steve was listening to the other day?

Sure. Well played, well composed and no fucking lyrics to ruin the party hence no silly ideology to get in the way, the jewish part is musical only and it's a hell of a ride!

The three before are older heavy metal album with the Serpent's Knight below being Warrel Dane's metal band prior to Sanctuary way back in 1981. Its so insanely metal its not even funny, way better than anything Nevermore ever released. The Dawnbringer album is great a little overproduced, but its a great mixture of heavy and some black metal elements.

As for black metal you don't like that so there is no point recommending that.

Death metal the last decent and mandatory albums I heard was :

Funebrarum-The Sleep of Morbid Dreams

Crushing, heavy, intense and doesn't sound like shit like the latest slew of Incantation clones.

Oh and since it wont post

I like some Immortal. I wouldn't say all black metal is lost on me.

So, if you haven't yet, you should try this:

You'd probably like Absu, Inquisition, Melechesh, and stuff like that then. Check them out if you can stand Immortal's vocalist you can stand Inquisition, and if you haven't heard Absu they were inspired by thrash bands so they're always playing rapidly and mix that with some Blood, Fire, and death era Bathory on The Sun of Tiphareth and The third storm of Cythraul and you will probably latch onto them pretty quickly. Melechesh sound more or less like a Middle Eastern version of Absu.

need a name.

I'm starting at the top the list and working my way down, post by post. On Outlander now, old school rockin heavy metal.

Everything has been good so far, except for the first one...

I just found my vaporizer. It's been a very slow motion day.

PS - John Zorn is awesome.

It's only one song, and the music is awesome epic old school metal. The riffs! But I really don't like his singing.
