... where we could just talk about Motorhead or whatever and things would be good. Was blasting Rock N Roll earlier and it made me want to do a search for all the cool old threads and re-read them all. Now, everyone has lives or girlfriends or whatever. Not cool, guys. Let's not forget why we're here, after all. METAL.

It's been major slow here even the reviews are dwindling down.

There needs to be more traffic.

We just have to start getting into the swings of whatever used to start those convs. Don't remember what Zad is talking about exactly.

Yeah, a kid definitely slows my posting/visiting. Maybe we need more flame wars.

Most of us all seem to listen to different stuff, or not listen to much at all anymore.

I never really talked much about the other, non-music stuff, but I certainly enjoyed reading it.

I've actually been metal as fuck recently. No job, no girlfriend. I finished another semester of Audio Production school now I only have 1 Live sound class left. I've been going to tons of smaller crust punk/metal shows. Wearing Mayhem shirts around, the whole works.

I don't post a lot because there's nothing to say anymore.

I've been on a real Shining kick though as of late. All of their albums, even though I feel the newest is their weakest, I hope their next one is better.

been drinking a lot of beer to.

I'm off my hipster kick and back into death metal lately. Lots of Necrophagist going on these days... and some Carcass here and there.

Yeah, it's been a while since I posted here. A serious girlfriend and a full-time summer job will do that to you. Sad to see that some people appear to be gone! (Legacy, CotB, etc.)

Many people have left the site because of their taste disagreeing with it. Daniel turning indie, Misha going jazz & prog, the italian sailorman going prog too, etc. And we've lost others because their were asses or got tired of da internet. Because of all these defections, and because we failed to retained new posters, this site has slowed a lot but so have the flamewars. In the ole times Zad's remembering there was always at least one going on. All in all, I'm not sure if the site is better or worse now, it's quieter for sure but is that really a bad thing?

I feel like after 7 years of being on forums I've exhausted my interest in all the general debates you can have about music - downloading, artistic credibility, the importance of originality, selling out, autotune, complexity, catchiness, etc. I imagine other people here are similar (or they were never super interested in those things). Also I'm pretty well steeped in metal now. I used to not really know what black metal, old school death metal, traditional doom metal, heavy metal, sludge metal, and such were, but now I've had my phases of being excited by those things (except black metal) followed by a permanent state of settling on my favourite bands in the style. So when I hear a new band I can place what they're doing pretty quickly. Which doesn't say anything about the quality of music, but it makes it less novel for me personally.

I hope that wasn't just a roundabout way of saying I don't really like metal anymore. It's more than I don't explore outside my already established favourite bands anymore. Probably because it's become 10-15% of my music listening rather than 75%+. I also lost my passion for following what's new and trendy in the metal/music world.

So yeah I don't have much to say music-wise here. :-(

I'm still very much interested in Metal and still very passionate about music in general. There are infinite possibilities of musical discussions; so saying that someone has nothing more to say because all has been said would be rather absurd and directionless. Metal is still my first passion with having to go different directions once in a while as both a healthier approach to music as well as diversity and education in different "genres." Not to mention that Metal is so diversified that one simply can never get tired of it.

There are no more intense discussions going on here because as other people have stated, they have left for numerous reasons like loss of interest being one of the main ones. Steve was someone that was very creative in creating discussions but he's been banned twice so we won't be seeing him around anymore.

I for one am working full-time for the summer so I basically have no time to post here and free time to relax and listen to music so I can come up with something new and unheard of. Others, well, they were never thread starters but more thread responders.

This is pretty much what happened to me with hip-hop. Between 2003-2006 I was constantly looking for new hip-hop music but since then it's been all metal for me. As of now, I'm really nowhere near that point with metal because there is so much I still need to listen to.

I'm fighting through carpal tunnel and I just don't like to type too much outside of work. If/when I can get the surgery I will post more!

I totally agree with OP and I'm totally sober.

I've got a few topic ideas too.
