Terrific interview with Horna after their recent US tour and all the antifa drama.

Cool article and a most excellent reaction from the band. Don't take any lip from those antifa swine. Speaking of the outrage mob, never heard what finally became of the Taake fiasco. Did they end up cancelling their US tour or head over to the Mexican biker bars like the mighty Fins in question? (Little spoiler for all those who haven't read the article)

Relapse have dumped Tau Cross and returned their album after discovering that vocalist Rob (ex-Amebix) thanked a holocaust denier in the draft liner notes and refused to back down. Always the bloody anarchists, isn't it?

http://www.brooklynvegan.com/relapse-on ... d-menuhin/

Predictably the rest of the band (incl Voivod drummer Away) have not taken this well. Nothing explicitly coming over as dodgy in the lyrics apparently, looks like Relapse wanting to get ahead of a potential "cancel".

The extremely rare unicorn that is decent metal writing at Pitchfork has raised its head.

I'm impressed at the score, but really just the exception that proves a very clear rule for P4K. I won't go any further on this topic!

Vogg from Decapitated and the drummer from fucking Eastern Front have joined Machine Head!

:lame: with a very, very small chance of :dio: I guess.

Had heard the 'Lacuna Coil are good again' rumours but didn't really believe them. But they do have guitar solos and shit now, even if the Korn influence is still very much there. Been relistening to their past few albums, the new one will definitely make it on my list if it's all as catchy and fun as this (in fairness, seems way better than Broken Crown Halo etc).

Apparently Necrobutcher was going to kill Euronymous himself, and believes the police knew about Varg's intents before the event.

Not sure whether drug-based paranoia or true, could go either way with ol' Necro tbh. Or, of course, he's a canny old sod who knows how to get attention before an album release...

Proscriptor has announced that Absu are quitting. Guess we'll never get that "Apzu" album or whatever the third in the trilogy would have been.

Tara was one of my favorite albums to listen to when I was younger. Really played that one out.

Slow musical news day; Rotting Christ are deliberately not doing paid meet-and-greets on their forthcoming US/Canada tour and that seems out of the norm enough for a band of their status that it's worth praising (and, you know, Season of Mist mentioning in Facebook posts about their tour...). Apparently they're very good at hanging out and shooting the breeze casually with gig goers, in fairness to them.

I always thought it was pretty lame to have to pay to meet some rock star at a concert...which is why I never did it. Props to them.

Say what you like about Deafheaven, they didn't release anglophobic mobile games. I like how Blabbermouth have become copy-pasted press releases now, too.

See the blackbirds fly in all their 8-bit glory!! Hegg and crew resurrecting the Gameboy Color for our mass enjoyment is alright by me. Maybe the game nerds can do a metal version of Tapper with the bartender trying desperately to serve an army of booze hungry thrashers. Final level is a showdown against prime Motorhead. You'll never win, but you'll still have fun anyway.

What's in my Bag? featuring Mikael Akerfeldt.

A fun watch for all the music nerds. Will have to check out some Scott Walker.

I knew Zakk Wylde was a fan of Sabbath, but I didn't know that's literally what he named his son:

Metallica have done an isolation version of Blackened: https://youtu.be/P_yeICLSDOQ

James H's grandpa mode is oddly endearing. And his voice is aging well. Another Load-type album from them in the not too distant future? And Lars will always be one of my favourite drummers to watch, for the intense faces of concentration he pulls.

Had this shared from a friend and I think Season of Mist need to fire someone. I'd put this in Rate the Song Above You but ugh, honestly.
