Just picked this up. Number 15 in the barrel for the Enslaved gang without any signs of stagnation. The boys are, as expected, in fine form musically, layering rich, atmospheric melody with their tried and true frosty aggression. The proggy bits could have been better placed on some tracks, but generally work well and rarely distract. The production is crisp and well balanced without sounding clinical or dull like so many modern releases. The dual vocals between Grutle and new drummer Iver Sandoy adds a welcome dynamic to the band's sound and will hopefully continue on the records to come. Well done, boys. Another excellent effort.

Well written thrash, I generally agree. The prog parts were indeed tough to swallow in places, but the new drummer/vocalist adds an interesting dynamic.
