A very good comeback from Sworn to a Great Divide. I like Wichers guitar style and Dirk Verbeuren gets a chance to show his drumming talent, especially on Late for the Kill, Early for the Slaughter which is the best song on the album. If only they could write 9 more songs of the same caliber we'd have the perfect Soilwork album.

Not a big fan of Sami Albert Hynninen's vocals but, other than that, this is a terrific retro-prog album. You really get the feeling you've uncovered some obscure 70s prog rock band. And a good one at that.
Listen to Temple of the Worm.

Stupid as shit slam death metal with a bit of a beatdown hardcore edge. Great stuff minus the vocals of course.

Very good compilation, captures some of Leviathans best songs (S.W.O.L, Liar of Nazareth) and has a great Death In June cover.
Seriously fucking good. Possibly my favorite thing Leviathan has put out albeit a compilation.

Best prog metal album of the year. These guys also have something of Devy in their sound which makes 'em even more delightful.

Underappreciated album from an underappreciated band. If you like Dodheimsgard's weirdest moments, then you'll love this.

Sample, "Diving with Your Hands Bound [Nearly Flying]"

Catchy, memorable power metal, not overly cheesy but very well done. Definitely their best album.

Sick hardcore. Seriously everyone should at least check this out. It's hard to resist getting ignorant to this shit.

A slow grower precautionously unfolding all the marvels I distantly perceived on the first listens. I can get that those who love mostly metal are disappointed with Heritage, the others just have to deal with Opeth wanting to take a break from their usual prog death routine. They do it well, that's all that matters.

Very much a mid-1980's Thrash album. Violent and riffy as all hell.

I'm glad this band managed to get over their change of vocalist so well.
Now that I gave their new one a few spins, I can confidently that it's at least as good as The Detached.

Indeed Stephie, it's a great album. Growing in me with every listen. Circumstanced it's one of the best songs I've heard this year.

Thergothon - Streams From The Heavens

The originators of Funeral Doom Metal. Oceanic and primitive. I would imagine this album being very inaccessible for a non-Funeral Doom Metal fan. Give it lots of time to sink as it is something other-worldly and extremely dark. This is Esoteric and deeply spiritual music that will reach the abyss of the human soul and mind.
