Post subject:  Bands with no replay value

There are some bands whose undeviating predilection to never change in their music relegates their cds to the back of my collection. What are some bands/albums that are necessarily bad, but that you haven't listened to in years because of releasing the same album ad nauseam? For me it would have to be Dismember unfortunately as I have recently finished Death metal and Massive Killing capacity, they just don't seem to do anything differently.

Death metal bands in general I usually lose my enthusiasm for exploring their discography after one or two albums, 'cause they usually either don't change much (Dismember) or they get worse (Morbid Angel).

What? Also Suidakra, a less known band, which I used to like a lot, has been releasing the same album for years. Dragonforce, AC DC, Destruction...

95% of the Unique Leader bands. Why listen to an album twice when you can listen to an album by a different band which sounds completely the same?

Skydancer basically have infinite replay value. If only they'd rerelease with good production.

Yes, the 90's stuff of DT is really good. But the last 4 albums sound the same to me.

Agreed.

Yeah... Dark Tranquillity up to "Damage Done" were very good. But after that they became a bit repetitive; they're still a decent band although "We Are The Void" was very commercial sounding.

Most european PM actually. Pretty much all these bands seem interchangeable to me and very few of them gain from repeated listenings... So I play them once and then play others of the same "brand".

Totally agree. Unique Leader was at one stage the most monotonous labels on the planet though I haven't heard anything from them for 5+ years.

I'll also add most generic DM bands, PM bands etc. Even certain generic Thrash bands...

Damage Done doesn't even come close in being the same as Character, Fiction and We are the Void.

As for replay value Character gets constant spins from me. So does many of DT's discography.
