Where did you pick up your logic? Of course it's based on my tastes and it's my opinion. I imagine everyone in here is sharing their opinion?

Lol, I don't even know how to respond to this. You can go ahead and spout your opinion on your own musical tastes, but claiming that anyone with a different taste is "too nostalgic" is just plain illogical no matter how you spin it.

You do realize that you quoted your own quote

Don't get mad because you're stuck in 94 black metal land my man.

Yeah, modern In Flamez land is so much better!

Bah, I thought I fixed the quotes in my edit...apparently not. It is fixed now so it doesn't look like I'm arguing with myself

Anyway, to continue along with the original question.

Most pop music has been written in Emin for decades, that said, it was very easy to get into metal in the past because the songs already had a very familiar sound.

Now, I'm not so sure that contemporary music has formed that frame of reference that will let you simply enjoy the new ways metal sounds to fresh ears. In the 80's damn near everything had a guitar in there too, so it was easy to make the leap.

Yeah, that is true, but most Popular Rock bands or solo artists featured just as much guitar as a Hard Rock band. I'm looking at you Richard Marx.

Seriously, anyone that is too young to have heard a lot of this stuff and plays guitar would be doing themselves a favor. Bands like The Outfield had guitar players just as competent as a much Harder band.

You'd be surprised that stuff like Celine Dion and Belinda Carlisle had some of the best guitar work around. Regular pop music owned guitar playing from about 1984-1992.

I still put on my Peter Cetera albums and jam along on guitar. A hell of lot more fun than playing along to Metallica's boring ass 3-chords.

Someone said something about my avatar earlier. No, I didn't use it because I am a self-absorbed ass. I wanted to show off that I installed a single pole (not a humbucker) pickup in my guitar, which is a subtle hint that I don't primarily use it to play metal anymore.

Did you guys also enjoy that I wore a Slipknot shirt to express my complete defiance to the All Hope is Gone review?

What did you like about that line Rio, was it that "we" was used instead of "we're" or was it the poor wording that makes it appear I've only know one other musician?

That's pretty much how it goes though. You don't really say after a song "I sounded great!" because there's usually a mutual exchange of ass-kissing and ego-stroking going on that makes that unnecessary.

What I liked was the juxtaposition of

Quote:
together there is no ego

with

Quote:
too busy congratulating each other

Anyway... in my experience the most skilled musicians tend to go in for self-flagellation more than self-congratulation.

Here's a subtle hint for you:

NO ONE CARES

Well, we'll eventually care if/when you release an album... Meanwhile, keeping a few things to yourself might seem like a good idea. Just sayin'...

Stefan and V agree. Adveser brings people together; we can all go home happy.

Exactly. Talking up his skill and talent will amount to nothing save our disappointment in his album.
