When I first started to listen to Kamelot they inspired me to learn music to help me start my own band one day. Has metal itself inspired you in any way shape or form? |

Yes. Sure. Don't want to go too personal again, but power metal (and thrash as well) helped me, and still do to some extent, to accept this condition I got and move the fuck on. A song like Firewind - I Will Fight Alone, for example. Quote: I will fight alone Stand and face an army of one I will stand alone Until I'm overrun That kind of stuff. Pharaoh - Fighting is another example. Quote: We're fighting by the dawn We're fighting after sunrise We fighting for a chance to see our life to be And you won't take us alive We're fighting in the dark We're fighting after midnight We're fighting for a fantasy reality In case our dreams are right On we fight! A third good example of inspiring song would be Kreator - Murder fantasies : Quote: I want to kill you
Take away your life In torture as you die I want to kill you Your death I want to feel Create your corpse in murder fantasies (Hint : the last one had an ex-GF involved) |

Venom wrote a song about schizo's, sepultura named an album after them. Dead was probably schizo or bi polar. Lots of musicians are crazy like me. |

Everyday when I wake up I read a poster in my wall that says: "Remember you're metal not an ass kissing whore" LH Then I go to my daily life and do my best. |

Ancient Rites, Inquisition, and Melechesh inspired me to learn about ancient history. |

Yes, but not specifically metal more than music in general. |

I would say that no Genre deserves sole credit. Music though, Yes. |

Well, I think every metalhead that is not a poser somehow gets influenced by the might of the metal, about being "your own god" and that sort of thing. But music in general inspires one to look beyond the ordinary and pail, look to nature of the will, to be inspired by the eternal, and make melodies and structure in endless forms. I write poetry and especially philosophical and theosophical ones and music like David Darling's Dark wood album inspires me and words come flowing out. Aside from reading the philosophies of the ancients and the modern, and such philosophies as Nietzsches' and such lyrics such as Emperor's, I found Ihsahn's lyrical themes to be somewhat thought provoking (at the time of course). Philosophy has its own rewards. Ihsahn was also deeply influenced by Nietzsche. |

metal has pretty much helped me in every way possible, the different styles are good for different mood and specifically black metal has got me into what is a combination of being an atheist and satanist, Satan being used as a symbol rather then a god. and this has showed me to take care of myself and not let others get away with hurting or teasing me. |

Not really, I look to it as an escape not an inspiration. I suppose it has influenced my way of dress and my 'fuck it' attitude in some situations, and continues to reinforce my atheism and existentialism. However, correlation is not causation. |
