Also Guilty Gear X's soundtrack is amazing too. Big Blue brings tears to my eyes because it's so nostalgic for me. Grew up with F-Zero on the fucking SNES

No. You have mortally offended the gods of metal. For penance, go and record an atmospheric black metal album on a Fisher Price Play Skool tape recorder in a metal trash can in the woods, limit it to a release of five, then burn all five copies (plus the master) in a sacrificial fire to Blashyrkh, Mighty Ravendark. Be sure to slaughter a moongoat or two as well. Then perhaps you will be able to once again call yourself a metalhead.

Anyway, responding to the topic at hand, I too like the F-Zero X soundtrack. It has a very 1991-ish surf-metal sound, which makes sense since the original F-Zero came out in 1991 and a lot of the tracks in F-Zero X are remixes of songs from the first game.

The Need For Speed SE is another game with a nifty mid-90's rock/techno/metal soundtrack. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the soundtrack was never released on CD and I can't find any sites where you can download it. God, I miss the days of unlicensed soundtracks in racing video games.

There's some discrepancies and shit but it's entertaining non the less. If you look up GG on Wikipedia the references are listed there as well.

I still recommend reading it if you can get past a few misspoken dates. The metal and rock references in GG are fairly enjoyable I think.
