During a gig we like to throw in one or two covers, to hype up the audience by playing their favourite songs. So the question is, what songs are the most know and most appreciated as cover songs? Currently we're debating whether to throw in Tornado Of Souls by Megadeth, Painkiller by Judas Priest or Warriors Of The World United by Manowar alongside our already prepared Hail And Kill. What other songs would be good? |

I'd go with Tornado, Painkiller's a safe choice but so, so overused. |

Manowar, if adequate loincloths can be supplied. |

Tornado of souls... Painkiller is typical, And TWO Manowar covers in a setlist is too much Manowar. |

I'm the only one who voted Painkiller? Obvious, I know, but it would slay in a live setting. |

I love Manowar, but two songs be two many. Yarharhar. Painkiller, if the vocalist can handle it. Rust in Peace is one of my all time favourites, but Painkiller as a track, goddamnit would be good live. |

The vocalist can handle it, sure as hell. I keep trying to get him to do his Chuck Schuldiner impression but he insists with a better version of current Rob Halford. Whatever. Personally I'd go with either Painkiller or Warriors Of The World. I don't like Megadeth that much, and I don't know if the song would be as known in the audience than the others. |

I figured Painkiller would kill the vocalist's throat or just sound off key so I went with Tornado. |

I'd personally go with Painkiller or Warriors... Hell, Warriors is such an awesome song, especially live... Dammit, I want to do both! Three covers!! GRRRR. |

And by the way, the singer can easily sing Painkiller. He even tells me the falsettos aren't that difficult. Check him (us) out: www.myspace.com/soulsmirror |

Yeah, paranoid id good if played right way (you can't imagine how many times I've heard band spoil it). Warriors is just too gay or childish if you ask me. Tornado as someone said isn't quite known song. So Painkiller all the way! ![]() |

I'd go with Tornado, cos it's a kick ass song to play! I don't think it's inappropriate to play 2 covers from the same band if you're assured the crowd will love it. For my band's gig this Saturday, we're playing 2 Amon Amarth covers, 'Pursuit of Vikings' and 'Death in Fire'. |

If falsettos aren't a problem, then try out some Mercyful Fate/King Diamond. |
