Post subject: Albums you hate that everybody else loves.

As a sort of "sister thread" to the popular "Albums You Love That Everybody Else Hates", here's the antonymn of it.

I'd have to say anything by Mercyful Fate. I can't stand King Diamond's vocals. And I'm just not really into that NWOBHM style of heavy metal.

Also, I don't really like Pleasure To Kill much. The awful production basically ruins it for me.

Darkthrone-Under A Funeral Moon

Has one good song, and pretty much everything other Darkthrone album I've heard had more good songs than that.

Mine would be

Metallica - Kill 'Em All

Entombed - Clandestine

And although I wouldn't go so far as to say I hate Black Sabbath with Ozzy, they just never did anything for me. I love Sabbath without Ozzy, especially Sabbath with Tony Martin.

Exodus- Tempo of the Damned

Seriously.. whats so great about this album? There's one fantastic number (Impaler) and the rest is at best average and at worst shit.

Iced Earth- The Dark Saga

Such a boring album in just about everything way. Its only saving grace is Barlow and the fact that A Question of Heaven is the best ballad the band ever did. Still, its an album that makes me fall asleep.

Opeth- Anything

What I said about boringness and The Dark Saga times a few thousand.

Helloween- Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy

Definitely a good album. But I'm at a loss as to how people describe it as amazing or as good as the original Keeper albums. Its overlong by about 20 minutes and is filled with filler.

Testament- Anything

A band that has never known how to write a good thrash riff. They've had some good songs and for a while a fantastic lead guitarist (Skolnick), but their position at the top of the thrash mountain is undeserved.

I'm shocked at your view on Testament Brahm.

 Wow I actually agree with you except for the Cryptopsy bit.

In Flames has to be the epitome of why melodeath sucks (except for a few exceptions).

Everything by Blind Guardian except Nightfall - Never liked them, never will. Boring band by all accounts.

Amon Amarth - The Avenger - The only AA album I don't like and I can't explain why... it just didn't do it for me.

Angra - Aurora Consurgens - It was a big plunge in quality after Temple of Shadows. Still, some songs were good but overall nothing spectacular.

Cellador - Enter Deception - Too much hype for an average power metal album.

Nevermore - Dreaming Neon Black - I always hear people saying this is their best album while trashing Dead Heart In A Dead World. To me it's the opposite. I love DHIADW.

There's plenty more but I think that is enough. :)

Wait, when did people trash Dead Heart? That's actually one of Nevermore's most acclaimed albums. Enemies Of Reality is the album that takes the most heat (probably because it's less complex than other Nevermore albums).

Likewise. I have listened to a couple of their albums, Demonic and First Strike Still Deadly which is a sort of greatest hits album. I kinda agree in parts. They are good, but not that great. Overkill deserves a higher recognition than Testament.
