I prefer Dusk and Her and Embrace, and Cruelty and the Beast more than DAAD. You could tell that Dani's voice is cracking up in this album. His shrieks aren't so powerful. DAAD is also disappointing in the bass department. Dave Pybus, IMO, couldn't fill in the void Robin left. I've been a fan of Robin, and I love what he's done on so many tracks, especially towards the end of 'Dusk and Her Embrace'. The string skipping parts just turn me on:dio:

But apart from that, I think DAAD is a strong album because it's definitely Cradle's most ambitious one. And it also proved that they had the balls to carry on and maintain their success despite the absence of several key members, Gian and Robin, who, mind you....were the backbones of DAHE and CATB.

I don't know why everybody is trashing the newest Metallica album titled S:t Anger. It is definately the best album they have done so far and I am a huge Metallica fan. The songwriting is awsome and the music sounds really raw and brutal. Hettfield has never sounded better on the vocals and Lars Ulrich shows that he is the best drummer ever. The guy at the productionboard should also get a big applause since he has managed to get a really raw and cool sound in the final production. There is not a single filler either, this album fukkking rocks 100/100 an instant classic :dio:

Eh, St Anger is alright. Some ok songs, some crap songs, enough decent moments throughout to save it. 65 / 100, says I.

I choose to believe that he is an actual member of Metallica and he is commenting to set the record straight. Now, I only seconded Kath's comments but not to contradict further as I'm not financially prepared to face a law suit.

Utter trash that album was. Some good ideas floating around in there, but they would run the good riffs into the ground. They shold have cut the songs down, not everything needs to be 7 minutes, and for fuck's sake, you have one of the best soloists in the business and you don't use him? That's fucking dumb on several levels. They also should have given James a beer. I thought Sweet Amber and Some Kind of Monster were OK, but again, they dragged on too long. Everything else is just laughable. The bridge in Invisible Kid is one of the worst things I've ever heard.

I have come to find that I really do like ReLoad, and about half of Load. They probably should have made those 2 one album though. There was a lot of filler shit on Load.

Operational, Captain. Even joking about that deserves a ban. Ban Zad too, while you're at it. Whoever it may concern.

I pretty much agree with those comments. It has it's moments, but those moments are done to death. Also, I managed to play Frantic on my second ever time behind a drum kit, which goes to show... something.

IMO StAnger didn't even have it's moments... An album like that shouldnt be released just for its drum sound.

I third this. St. Anger did have a couple decent riffs here or there (Invisible Kid, probably having the best one). And several songs, such as The Unnamed Feeling, did have potential. But for every decent idea on St. Anger there were about 20 bad ones. The lousy production (seriously, who was Metallica trying to kid by DELIBERATELY giving the album demo-quality production? Everybody and his grandmother knows who they are, so why should they pretend to be an underground up-start band?). Sometimes poor musicianship (the verses in Invisible Kid, for example - which really should've been faster IMO), that drum sound, the lack of solos, and worst of all: That whole "Jam Session" idea. Which, truth be told, just doesn't work in Heavy Metal. It may work in a genre like Punk, but in Metal, we want complexity and well-developed songwriting. Not an eight minute, solo-less jam session.
