I got The Gallery in the end. It's got its own sub-niche, makes a sort of sense eventually. Projector's tons better.

The entire Testament discography has been criminally underrated. One of the best thrash bands ever. If life hadn't fucked them over they would sell as much as Megadeth.

Well, Skolnick (god) is back. They'll fuck the world up with their next one, I'm sure. They show a simply amazing "better than the album" performance in their Live in London dvd.

It's a good album, but Hemispheres is their best by a mile.

Hmmm... going to have to disagree with you about Moving Pictures. Listened to it so many times I know most of the tracks, but there isn't a bad track on there. Still, haven'tgot to Hemispheres yet...

I think all of Dark Tranquillity's albums are very inconsistent seeing as how they're hailed as classics. Sure they have 3-4 great songs, but the rest range from decent to plain boring. Their later albums fix this to an extent but the side effect being that many of the songs sound very samey.

They do. I tend to put them on for a quick blast of melodeath, the only md band I really listen to. I'll probably end up getting them just because, the way I did Korn and Sepultura's discogs.

Agreed. That dvd is intense. Their next album has to be amazing.

Reverend Bizarre are very underrated because their new album is one of the best (metal) albums I've ever heard.

Because it's not held on the same level as Black Sabbath's S/T and Master of Puppets by everyone!!!

For this you die in your sleep. The new RB is one of the best this year, but you're overrating it extremely.

Overrated:

Anything by Tool.

3 Inches Of Blood's singer, you have to be crazy to hire a singer that annoying.

In Flames's Jester Race. This CD just seemed mediocre at best to me. Sure it had December Flower, but there really was nothing special about this "classic". 'Just say I liked Soundtrack better.

"The Gallery" I agree with you guys on this one.

St. Anger. All the lashes at it and it is still overrated.

Obviously most raved about bands (Between the Buried and Me, Dimmu Borgir, Lame of God). None of them ever deliver, except Mastodon.

But there can be no album as overrated as Opeth's Ghost Reveries. This was the worst album I've heard thus far, the only thing I liked about it was how the music drastically changes from song to song. It's like they are trying to make their boring music exciting.

Underrated:

Honestly I didn't think Soundtrack to your Escape was too bad an album, worth the two bucks I found it for in a discount bin. Sure the vocals were bad, there were too many keyboards, and Evil in a Closet was there, but Superhero of the Computer Rage, F(r)iend, and In Search for I were bad songs at all. The rest weren't too bad, either. Not as bad as you say at least.

And Trivium's Crusade is an album that grows on you like wine. The vocals may be bad and they have become Metallica wannabes, but that really doesn't constitute a bad album. Give this one a couple of spins and you might like it. Might.

I should probably add No Rest For The Wicked by Ozzy Osbourne to my list. I seriously don't understand why that album doesn't get more attention. It has some of the best songs Ozzy's ever written (Crazy Babies, Fire In The Sky, Bloodbath In Paradise, and even the hidden bonus track Hero). It's also probably Ozzy's darkest and most sinister album. Yeah, I know glam rock was all the rage back when it came out in 1988, and Ozzy was deep into his drug/alcohol addictions at the time. But those two factors shouldn't overshadow an otherwise excellent album.

I'll dirnk to that! I love No Rest for the Wicked and I'm about to blasphemize, from a songwriting standpoint, it's far superior to Blizzard of Ozz. There's not a single piece of filler on No Rest, while Blizzard has quite a few clunkers.
