So, after three months I've done 267 trades. Thats roughly a 50/50 split between receives and sends. For someone who loves to buy music, this site is a dream come true.

Anyway, when I first joined I asked some noobish questions on the forum. Of course, those that had been around for a while responded like a bunch of dickheads, expecting me to find that one thread in a million that answers my question. You guys know me; imagine my response. Hahaha. So I immediately made some enemies; but eventually I vanquished my foes and the land was tamed. In appreciation, those at Support sent me a congratulatory e-mail because they'd been getting a ton of complaints from people about those same turds I was fighting with.

However, they said those turds I was fighting with sent them about three times the amount of complaints—about me! Hahahaha. So they asked me to please tone it down a bit so they could actually do their job. Haha. Anyway, since then I've been helping them out giving ideas and opinions on ideas and such. The other day I had 13 CDs in transit being sent out to other traders, but I only had 5 coming in to me. It should be even, or close to it. Apparently, though, the site is rife with indie turdlickers, so us metal fans have to be a bit more patient. So, because there was a big disparity on sends/receives, one of the owners fucking bought me four CDs, brand new!

Delerium - Nuages du Monde
Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll
Children of Bodom - Trashed, Lost & Strung Out
Hammerfall - Renegade

Isn't that fucking awesome? I cannot recommend this site enough. It can suck a bit when you get a CD with no back art, but if you really need the back art—like I do—you can just put the CD back on your Want List and you'll usually get it on a second trade. That's $3.50 for a full CD, and you still have that extra CD and booklet you can trade back out. The most I've paid is $5.25 for a full CD; it took me three tries to get the complete version of Magellan's Imending Ascension.

Anyway, that place needs metal fans, so tell your friends. :dio:

Agreed, both with that sentence and the awesomeness of lala.com. I've had well over 100 on my want list for a good while now, and I'm starting to get a little frustrated as I'm racking up the surplus trades as well. Maybe the owner will buy me some shit?

That said, it's still a great idea that would be greatly heightened by the addition of some new users with a taste for metal (hint, hint US forumites!!).

I'd be a regular there if two things happened;

A - More users who trade metal
B - Give me my fucking back insert. I stopped using jewel cases, but I might go back to them some day.

How many have you gotten without it? I make it a point to log in multiple times during the day to send messages to people sending CDs. I send this message:

Quote:
Hello. If you have the back insert could you please include it? If it’s easier I don’t mind if you fold it in half. It fits easier, doesn’t get as mangled (as it sometimes can).

Thanks,
Ken

Some people don't send it because it's not required (I think this will change in the future). Others are idiots and find it to be a hassle, so that's why I say they can fold. Some think that's easier for some odd reason. And at the end of the day, if you don't get the back insert, put the CD back on your Want List. It's only $1.75, bro. That's what I do.

We should make a news post on it! :)

Whenever I get an e-mail saying I'm getting a CD I go there and PM the sender. I've recieved three w/o back inserts. So not bad. It's mainly the lack of users.

I've gotten about ten without back inserts so far. Those that I haven't yet gotten the inserts for:

King's X - Ear Candy
L7 - Slap Happy
Jacob's Dream - Jacob's Dream
Humble Gods - Humble Gods *
Spys4Darwin - Microfish (EP) *

* Rare

It sucks getting a CD without the back insert; but fuck me it pisses me off getting a rare CD without the back insert! Hahaha.

So this is how it looks for three months at this site:

September 17, 2006 - October 16, 2006: $43.75
October 17, 2006 - November 16, 2006: $82.25
November 17, 2006 - December 16, 2006: $89.25

No woman is ever going to love me. That's roughly 140 CDs for a total of $215.25. If we say tha average CD costs $10—which, of course, isn't accurate for retail at all—that's $1,400. Hello! Why aren't you using this site? If you have no CDs to trade, go to a used shop and buy a bunch of $0.99 bargain bin flops. You're still way below $1,400 (or the real number of over $2,000).

Yeah, long post, but I'm trying to get more metal fans onto this site. Haha. All those in bold I did not have to pay for, except those I just didn't receive the back art to. But even then most only took one more trade to receive it; the Magellan CD took three trades.

This site rules. Now stop being downloaders, steal you mom's CDs and sign up!

No offense, but no thanks, man. That's all crap that's sitting in the Used Bin at my local Hasting's right now. It's like an Internet version of the 99¢ cut-out bin.

And for god's sake, The Organization?

Here's what I've received since I joined in September, this site desperately needs more metal fans:

Cathedral - The Ethereal Mirror
Rush - 2112
Rush - Moving Pictures
King Crimson - Three of a Perfect Pair
Sentenced - Down
Dark Tranquillity - Skydancer/Of Chaos and Eternal Night
Meshuggah - Catch Thirty Three
Alice In Chains - Sap
Tool - Opiate
Cryptopsy - Once Was Not
A Minor Forest - Flemish Altruism
Nile - Black Seeds of Vengeance
Napalm Death - Fear Emptiness Despair
Cryptopsy - And Then You'll Beg
Hawkwind - Space Ritual (Disc 2/2)
Iced Earth - Something Wicked This Way Comes
All That Remains - The Fall of Ideals
YOB - The Illusion of Motion
Forbidden - Forbidden Evil
Set Fire to Flames - Mouths Trapped in Static
Gary Jules - Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets
The Haunted - Made Me Do It
At the Drive-In - Vaya
Halford - Resurrection
Ministry - Psalm 69
Therapy? - Troublegum
Cryptopsy - Whisper Supremacy
Spiritual Beggars - Ad Astra

This site definitely kicks ass, and I've received a few gems here and there, but I've gone for weeks at a time being owed a CD and nothing coming up. Then I'll get impatient and put a CD on my want list that I previously owned (stolen, lost, etc.) and it immediately gets sent. That's a little frustrating, so I reiterate, THIS SITE NEEDS MORE METAL FANS!!!!

That's not true. You only get what you put on your "Want List". If you don't want the kind of albums he's getting, then don't put them on your list, simple. It really is a good site if you've got a bunch of crap CD's accumulating dust that you don't listen to anymore.

That's the thing, I really don't. Last year hasting's was doing 4 Used for 1 New trade-ins and I pretty much cleaned out the shit doing that. This site just kind of seems like a hassle, sometimes you won't get the artwork which is gay, Ken said one was unplayable, and this would amount to way more trips to the Post Office than it's worth. I can barely drag my ass in there to get my eBay transactions done. I'd be wasting way too many lunch breaks to send stuff out to what's probably an unappreciative douchebag anyways.

I don't think you understand how it works. They send you the shipping materials with postage prepaid. You can send the CD's from the mailbox at your house, they look like the envelopes Netflix uses, if your familiar with those. True, you won't always get the tray card with the CD, but you can set your account to only receive CD's with the front booklet, and when you do that 90% of the people send all of the artwork. If you get a CD that's unplayable, just report it to the site and they'll credit you the trade so you get another one. It really is very little, if any, hassle.

So everything on that list is all that's available through that site, right? Can anyone on this forum do anything but talk shit?

Yeah. I wanted the secret track, the cover of "Do It Again."

Unfortunately you're a bit ignorant on the whole process. I'm not going to try to convince you otherwise.

Old Man’s Child – Born of the Flickering
Behemoth – Satanica
SYL – No Sleep Till Bedtime
Old Man’s Child - Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion
Cannibal Corpse – Kill
Deicide – Best of
Arch Enemy – Anthems of Rebellion
Megadeth – So Far, So…
Iron Maiden – Number of the Beast
In Flames – Subterranean
Megadeth – Rust in Peace
Judas Priest – Painkiller
Labyrinth – Timeless Crime
Iron Maiden – Fear of the Dark
Dream Theater – Falling Into Infinity
Dream Theater – A Change of Seasons
Dream Theater – Awake
Dream Theater – Images and Words
Iron Maiden – Brave New World

This site is great for getting those CDs you've been meaning to get over the years and end up buying something new instead. Lala definitely needs more metal fans, but I still like how convenient it is. I can always go to a different site to get my music, but this is good to have up in the background. I'm yet to experience a problem.
