I'm on the fourth track and it's been literally nothing but some twat talking and some "creepy" industrial wooshy noise in the background. Is this literally the entire album, or is it worth listening to for longer?

Aside from that twat being the guy from Hellraiser, I think so. Only got a couple of tracks in myself, but from what I've heard from others, major  . Expect wrath and scorn in the forthcoming review.

Do you mean wrath and scorn directed at my pitiful opinion, or at this pretentious arse of an album?

Ooh, the latter. Fear not, old boy.

Some Ion Dissonance at school. I like it but I wish they were more like meshuggah in terms of their breakdowns. Real heavy and then just blow you away afterwards. ID's breakdowns seem anti-climactic.

Checked ID out again the other day after the topic, and they're a darn sight better than most deathcore bands around now. A bit unhinged, but that's nice at times.

NP: LoG - Wrath just to reassure myself that the drummer isn't that great.

Awesome song!
I prefer Diabolus Absconditus or Chaining the Katechon though (for DsO songs over 18 min)

So I've been listening to all the Emperor albums and oddly I think I find IX to be my favorite. I like Prometheus now even more than I used to yet it still is monotonous. The first two are still amazing yet I just don't love straight black metal as much anymore.
