Sotajumala - Paratiisin kutsu. I have been digging all things Finnish as of late. Fucking crazy solid riffing. The vocals are little monotone for me and the hints of chanting in the background didn't do much for me. And the video is as if they are playing in the middle of a pit in the middle of an MMA cage. I approve. 7/10

Royal Thunder - Blue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSXtb0u72Jw

The vocalist for Sotajumala plays guitar in Horna, so they have kvlt value too. Worth checking their albums out, nothing extraordinary but excellent solid death metal.

Royal Thunder seem cool, at work so can't listen properly, but initial thumbs-up.

Royal Thunder - Blue

The first I heard something from Royal Thunder and I like it. It's a 7/10 for now. I would give it an 8 if they went all out stoner at the last third. Cool song, I might pick something up from them if I get in the mood.

Lordi - The Riff. Oh, shit. I really have never liked Lordi. I generally find them to be tacky and those opening synths don't help that. Those vocals really lack balls. It's a song called The Riff and it lacks a decent riff. 3/10

Steve Vai - Deep Down into the Pain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EcqBpNQNg0

Steve Vai - Deep Down into the Pain - one of my favourite songs of the album along with "Here and Now" and "Touching Tongues", remember hearing the album for the first time and thinking: "wow that singer is kinda fucked up in the head" funny how is now one of my favourite musicians. 9/10

Doomsword - Days Of High Adventure

Epic. And kinda cool. And don't forget epic. Eight years ago I would eat this up.
I don't know 7/10 cause of the Conan The Barbarian intro.

Forced Entry - Macrocosm, Microcosm

Holy crap that's some mad bass playing. Riffage is fricking awesome too.

Goddamn the riffs were just mad in the 1980s/early 1990s.

3/10 the clean vocals were annoying and the harsh vocals weren't any better. Combine that with boring as hell riffs and no offence mate but a 3 is being very kind

it's been a very long time since I've heard them, that was a fun song but I know why I don't listen to them often 6/10

Anathema - Shroud of Frost

always liked these guys, classic Yorkshire doom, although never thought they were as good as MDB or PL who have always overshadowed them.

Grimfist - Separation of the Soul. Not sure when that was released, but pretty cool. Had a really 90s vibe to it with all that groove. That riff was fucking banging. I didn't know what to expect from it, but I liked it. I don't know if I loved it though.

2005, that was. Might just be me, but there doesn't seem to be as much rocking death/thrash around these days as there was then. I'm probably just missing it...

Dillinger Escape Plan - Paranoia Shields

Woo, new DEP! I haven't got around to hearing the new album yet, but I do like them a lot, and am really looking forward to it. Like how they've incorporated the Patton era into their sound as one element alongside Puciato's clean vocals and the more mentalist stuff. Always interesting, always worth hearing. You still planning on reviewing this, man?

nope this doesn't do anything for me, almost sounds like some random pop band if I'm honest 2/10

Heh, it was the first band I reviewed for MR. Samples a bit hard to find on YT, but it was one of the softer tracks, admittedly.

Arsis - Roses on White Lace

Never really got into Arsis. They're skilled, but I've never liked the songs that they come up with, for some reason. No exception here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QL19beIJSE0 - listen to this as loud as possible, the effect will be more profound.
