"Blood of Ancients, Blood of Hatred"



Odd to be nominating a track over 36 minutes as my favorite song of the moment, but so I am. Elysian Blaze's mammoth length new album has some tremendous highs, but at over 2 hours, a fair bit of filler too.

All the best from the album is contained here, in the mini-album song of sorts. The real strength of the track is from 16:40 to 28:40 when a monster (older Deathspell) riff crashes into a few key notes from early Blut Aus Nord, highlighting a repetitive Drudkh-style instrumental break. The section eventually slows to a very minimalist doom stomp and ends with all the bombast of Nightside Eclipse.

How come I never noticed Devy's track, "Suicide", before? The riffing is sick.

Sounds like you need to listen to Accelerated Evolution as much as possible as soon as possible.

Oh and this is my favorite song at the moment. Well it's a toss up between this and restless.
