Just to clarify, the Johnny Cash album is actually a remix album. I'm not sure if it should be up there as an actual new release by the artist. I'll probably take it off.

Fucking hell, do we need yet another new Darkthrone album?

Tons of good stuff coming out this year though. Particularly looking forward to Sigh, Bon Iver, Mono, Mastodon and Wolves In The Throne Room. Not getting my hopes up about the new Absu, mind.

Why not hope for Absu?

They're practically a different band bar Proscriptor, who I don't recall ever writing much music for them. Looks like it'll be worth buying just for the cover though.

Speaking of awesome covers, Axis Of Perdition and Animal Collective give me the feeling that 2009 will be the year of awesome cover art.

Don't keep your hopes up... I found it to be pretty disappointing.

Skyclad, the folk metal band formed by Sabbat frontman Martin Walkyier which then continued following his departure, have signed to Italy's Scarlet Records for the forthcoming Spring release of their twelfth album 'In The...All Together'.

No Walkyier, no good (probably).

I don't know, I thought A Semblance of Normality was really good.

Walkyier's creativity is really tough to match, the guy is a fucking poet singing like a madman.

I'm with Frigid on this one. The lyrics certainly weren't anywhere near as good, but the music was great.

Coincidentally, I just so happen to be listening to Folkemon right now.

Bah.

In other news, holy shit! A new She Said Destroy album came out last October, clearly with absolutely no label support whatsoever. Amazing, they were the Next Big Thing around Times Like Vines, and for once the hype was justified. Must hunt this down.

I just read an article detailing the war stories that inspired Geoff Tate/Queensryche in there creation of the new Queensryche CD "American Soldier". I am really looking forward to the CD and the tour.

The live show will consist of three movements or suites. One will have selections from Rage For Order, the 2nd will have selections from American Soldier, and the 3rd/final will detail songs from Empire.

I'm there.

If anyone is interested check http://www.queensryche.com

Yeah, I have. It's different, but still good.
