Asked when fans can expect to hear a new METALLICA album, Ulrich said: "It would surprise me if the next full-length METALLICA record would come out before 2015. It takes us awhile to make records, and we're also so busy with so many other things. But we'll get around to it eventually."

It's truly ridiculous that it takes them 7 years to come out with an album.

Clearly their heart isn't in it anymore.

Unfortunately same seems to apply to Iron Maiden as well.

No kidding. "we'll get around to it eventually"... doesn't sound like something they're excited to do.

Holy crap that's huge!

He was the force behind Slayer's best tunes.

Truly sad.

RIP Jeff! :dio: :dio: :dio:

He's been sick for a long time.

I guess the family wanted to keep the details quiet which is fair enough.

He had a flesh eating disease from a spider bite a few years back and so hadn't been playing for a few years with 'em. Gary Holt having filled in duties. But problems with his liver were not made public at all. No idea if they're related.

Because references to German tennis players really clear up just how popular Metallica is. Do any of you Aussies know more about Indonesia's moral policing? The article reads as if it might be a kickback as if the gift from Trujillo was a backdoor deal to get access to Indonesian markets or something ridiculous as that, when it is probably morel likely that they're policing metal's prominence. And a governor who likes Scum? Hells yeah.

At least he's honest unlike so many officials in Indonesia.

Hmm, disappointing, but not too surprising. They probably went too fast, too far, on the most recent recording.

Makes me wonder if notorious leftist nutjobs get the same treatment.

Is there an example of leftist nutters who didn't? And as long as they stop both from murdering people, I'm fine with it.

I'd actually be very surprised if Varg actually was planning a massacre. He was very critical of Breivik :
http://www.burzum.org/eng/library/war_in_europe05.shtml

"The final solution to this problem is not to kill anyone, but to raise our children with European ideals and values, and a European world view, and make sure that Christianity dies out when our coward parent generation dies out."

It's worrying if he genuinely was, though, especially considering most of the metal community treat him as a joke...
