Testament - Powerslave. Not gonna lie. I've never heard the original. But this was super fucking boring. The riffs plod along leaving it to be carried by Chuck's voice. Oh fucking hell. 3/10.

Blacklisters - Trick Fuck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoRSjFdPmyc

You've never heard Powerslave?

I liked this. That really (audible) bass heavy sound is regrettably lacking in several genres of metal. One of the first 10 underground albums I bought was Coalesce: 0:12, brings me back a bit to that, inaccurate comparison or not. 7/10.

Dolorian - Desolated Colors

mmm yes, yes I'm liking this, I'm liking this a lot, nice interplay between clean and distorted passages, black metalish vocals, very enjoyable 8/10

Mournful Congregation - The Monad Of Creation

funeral doom from my home state South Australia, sorry but I hope you've got twenty minutes spare whoever ends up rating this

I'd accept a Coalesce comparison.

Dolorian - Desolated Colours. Not the Dolorian album I usually grab. These guys are just great. The clean chords get me every time. Oh shit. That rumbling with the hum. And then it just died. This is like an adventure. 8/10.

Igor Cavalera and Greg Puciato - Exit Wound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxUqqiXGcy8

I've listened to that track dozens of times. 10/10 and be done with it.

I liked the vocals in the bridge of trapt's song, wish there was more of that style of singing in that one.

Anyway, we have here a track from one of BG's more controversial albums, like the guitarwork, of course, and verse singing too, but the choruses here are just too over the top for me. 5.5/10.

My last one for the night.

I didn't know FotN had covered that old ditty. Quite nicely too though I'm not a big fan of gothic rock. 6,5/10

Not the one to rate next but for those curious to listen to the original version:

(by Zager and Evans)

wow it has been a long time since I've heard them, really should dig up some of their material, this one isn't as good as some of the tracks I remember but it's still good enough 7/10
