New songs sound really good. Harsh vocals are a bit weak but are used sparingly. I'm excited.

I thought they actually did Harsh vocals better than they ever did before.

That may be true. Haven't listened to them in a while, but in comparison to other bands they're not great. Not intolerable by any means, but not good.

Also, listening to Kirisute Gomen and it reminds me of The Black Dahlia Murder in places. Interesante

I'd say their harsh vocals are now decent nothing exceptional though.
Bu I still prefer them having the harsh vocals when needed than never having them at all. It gives them an edge IMO.

Leaked and awesome as shiz. A Begger Hero has some atrocious female vocals in it though. I'm only halfway through to be honest but I got excited by how amazing 5 of the 6 songs i've heard thus far are. So far it seems better than Northwind.

I completely forgot about this band Skyfire. They released a really cool album in 2004 and have been silent since then. I just found this great artwork on their myspace. Expect new album early next year.

I just bought the 2004 release " Spectral" a few weeks ago and I was really impressed with it. Thanks for letting me know they have a new CD on the way. :dio:

I'll be waiting impatiently for Ynwie Malmsteen's new CD featuring the incredible Time "Ripper" Owens on vocals due out in mid October called "Perpetual Flame" :dio:

The new Trivium sounds shitty already. Expect fields and fields of scathing if I have to review the darn thing.

You haven't heard the darn album and you're already scathing it.... sounds like it will be a biased review.

See those big letters? They mean that, from what I've heard of it so far, the album will be shitty, in my opinion. Christ, must EVERYTHING I say get attacked round here?

I could say as much about my statement....
You may not have liked the two tracks that can be heard off their MySpace page, but in no way are they shitty IMO

Oh and my statement was in no way meant as an attack...

The new The Haunted album is awesome, and they're one of the tightest band technically, they recorded the album live in the studio.
And the new AA is also brilliant. Guest appearances by Roope Latvala, the singer from Entombed and Apocalyptica.

Oh yeah? From what I've heard, they just recycled their previous album and put some more bells and whistles on it.

Kinda like DragonForce, yeah?

You're not going to provoke me, but let me just explain exactly how the new AA is different from the previous one. It's one simple factor in the songwriting, the fact that the other guitar player has finally started composing as well, and he has a completely different attitude and approach to songwriting. The songs are groovier, and have different goals.

I love most of your reviews, but you're obviously extremely biased against them so it would be nice if someone else did the new Trivium.

thx

I suppose you want someone else to rewrite my Unspoken King and All Hope Is Gone reviews too?

Their single "Down from the Sky" has been released on their MySpace page Sept 3rd.
