New Mastodon is streaming. Need to hear the Last Baron.

Two songs in and this could be Album Of The Year material. Totally digging the more psychedelic sound.

Sigh. Really? Mastodon? I'll never understand it, I guess.
I disliked Mastodon too but this album is almost completely different whilst still being the same band.

Christ, but the new Static-X is boring. Not a single decent track so far.

If I kinda liked their last one would it be worth checking out?

Not so far. At least Cannibal had a bit of variety and oomph to it.

The new Pestilence is out, and it's  . I... has anyone else heard it?

I haven't yet... what is the meaning of the unsettled face? Does it suck?

I'm not sure yet, to be honest, just something about it seems... off.

Right, so having spent a bit more time with Resurrection Macabre, I've cracked it: they've gone modern. It's like a mosh-happy Cannibal Corpse, with moments that had me thinking I had Aborted's last on by mistake, and other moments which were ohmyfuckinggod close to Nu-Metallish groove. They overruse riffs, and have very few proggy solos or anything that anyone was hoping for. Mamelli's time with C-187 has not taught him how to make good Death Metal, it seems.

It's not terrible, and it's sort of enjoyable if you turn your brain off, and given that the other thing I was listening to was the new Static-X... I had it on full blast when going around Tesco's just now, but all in all a disappointment. Doubt it'll get above 70. Go in with low expectations, like, literally go in expecting complete crap, and you might dig it, but it's a huge pimple on Pestilence's otherwise outstanding discog. Yes Rio, even Spheres.

Death Magic Doom leaked. I'm still picking up my jaws from the floor. Album of the fucking year.

So they actually named it 16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead)...that's so lame.

New Tyr in April. :dio:

1. Hold the Heathen Hammer High
2. Tróndur í Gøtu
3. Into the Storm
4. Northern Gate
5. Turið Torkilsdóttir
6. By the Sword in My Hand
7. Ride
8. Hear the Heathen Call

I couldn't find a bigger one but it looks good.

There are new songs from both the new Alestorm and Tyr albums on Black Sails Over Europe myspace. Make sure you listen the new Tyr track because it's awesome. "Land" left me rather cold but I think this album will kick ass. The Alestorm song was meh.
