They're hated because they're a shit band.

Walmart sells their shirts, that's how shit they are.

Apparently, Mick Harris worked on dubstep-like stuff before dubstep was cool: http://www.beatport.com/release/in-the-margins/179481

Reading an article on death metal and tonality:
Quote:
As a result, tonality depends, not just on the notes themselves, but upon a listener to relate them, to organise them into coherent units and to relate the units to one another and the piece as a whole. We can gain a more concrete and detailed set of insights into these perceptual practices if we pause for a moment and interpret Saladin's comments in light of Edmund Husserl's notions of internal time consciousness.

Oh, shut the fuck up. Because surely Husserl will clear all this up.

Dude....you would love Nick Cave.

So hard to know where to start in such a massive discography but try perhaps Murder Ballads or Abattoir Blues. I'm quite sure you would come to love him, given your affinity towards the poetic.

There is nothing more awesome than that concert I posted from. Watch the full 8 minute clip. Angus in 1978 is not fucking human. How anyone can play that well while headbanging so hard for so long is nuts (he does it for the entire show). He must be on so much fucking speed. Trust me watch the whole clip, it's amazing.

This advice applies to everyone reading this. If you must, skip to 3:00 and watch the rest.

I actually wholeheartedly agree with those recs. Abattoir is beautiful and Murder Ballads is great. I think those guys would be right up your alley, DI.

I've decided to eliminate listening to music at times when it is mostly background noise--when I'm browsing the internet, reading, playing chess, watching sports. Interested to see if this'll effect my listening habits. My prediction is that it'll make me do those other things less, while making me take time to listen to music more often.

Not a bad call. I'll be interested to see how that works out for you.

So far it's not working out so well because my brain apparently loves multitasking. Mostly having a harder time focusing on what I'm reading and enjoying being on the internet less haha

ACDC suck, fuck that old man rock band.

If you want to see a real frontman look no further than Henry Rollins or Jacob Bannon

Never have I ever had less respect for your opinion than I do right now. Which is pretty impressive considering all your racist bullshit.

EDIT: btw, I make no arguments against the suggestion that AC/DC suck now. But AC/DC 1974-1979 is god. GOD.

You've always been a chinaman, and drawing with a mouse is hard.

That's what I love most about this place... it's meditative highbrow nature bordering on sublimity.
