I post here 'cause I like the community and doubt I could find a place closer to my music tastes (maybe I should start a 50s jazz and 00s post-hardcore forum!) and even if I could... eh, meh.

Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini

I finally bought this album. Some songs weren't clicking with me the first couple of times I listened to it but they finally did and I'm glad they did because I have been a long time fan of Enslaved :dio:

Well it's a different approach with the first two albums as they did not have a third guitarist (Brave New World). Their later stuff with Bruce is very different sounding and progressive (Seventh Son of a Seventh Son) although the presence of progressive elements is also somewhat clear in the first two albums but definitely not as much as their later releases.

The Graveland album is a first pressing and was limited to 500 copies. I picked it up for 25..I'm pretty stoked about that.

I was initially confused by this one, but I'm digging it now. It takes a while for the riffs to reveal themselves.

It definitely is. It also has the best production in all of their albums which I find essential in an doom album.

I found that Kathy Troccolli CD for a dollar that featured Taylor Dayne's producer, Al Pitrelli on guitars, Diane Warren writing the singles and of course, Joe Lynn Turner on backing vocals. Pop music used to be so musician and rock centric. Damn near every corny pop or adult contemporary album always had some ringer guitarist playing insanely good stuff on them. My favorite guitar style is that 80's pop power chords. I think the guys in Big Country were far better guitarists than Slayer's guitarists!

After about three weeks or so of waiting for The Great Mass to become available through amazon I finally canceled my order and ordered Colosseum's second album "Nomquam", instead. I'll put Septic Flesh on to my buy list.
