What techniques do people here use for temelo picked palm muting Angel of Death style? I turn my hand so it's facing down on the strings to get speed whilst I palm mute, but most players I know, whilst better than me can't do it. I think that having your hand flat and parrallel to the strings makes speedy palm muting very ahrd and tiring. Maybe it's just me.

I was never really taught how to do it i just kinda did what felt natural and sounded good and I do it a similar way. Theres sometimes that i will do the parrelle way, for when i am playing more prog stuff. I think it sounds better. But for just ass ripping metal like angel of death, then go with the facing down style if it gfeels good to you

Does anybody in here already tried to record a "slow version" of a really dificult solo and then speed up the audio file, just to see how you would sound like if you could actually play the damn thing? :D

Fantastic idea haha

Yeah man, I did it a few times playing Bodom riffs. I did a version of Evergrey's "The Great Deceiver", I played the intro half the speed along with guitar pro and then used Gold Wave to double the speed without changing frequency. And voilá, I can play The Great Deceiver !! :D

i jes' bought the washburn. It plays well, but i've got to restring it, and the cable input on the guitar is kinda loose...

I have only been playing for two months... Guitar teacher finally introduced me to drop d tuning :)

This week:

Spoonman
Beautiful People

They both seem easy-ish - but I'll still have to log quite a bit of time to play them right.

So far my known songs are basically selected riffs from a few songs:

Iron Man
Seek and Destroy :dio:
Run to the Hills
Patience
Children of the Grave
12 Bar Blues/Wipeout

I wish I started playing a loooonnnng time ago... but better late than never :)

Drakanripper, drop D tuning sucks dick; If you were tr00 you'd only downtune to play death metal and the like.

I'm learning:

Sodom-Agent Orange-Not very ahrd but cool to play.
Vio-lence-TDS-A fucking nightmare haha, It takes me like half an hour to nail one riff properly-the majority of the song is fine and then theres these little niggly bits.

btw I usually use www.metaltabs.com for teh tabbage
