Death is the band. Old Maiden, BG are good choices too.
Windir, Drudkh, Agalloch, I agree in these 3.

I'd add Cynic... and Burzum pre-jail (just music, forget about nazis and how stupid he is... speaking just about music, Burzum can be that band)

I don't like Burzum's (Varg's) music, even apart from his ideology.

I'd add Kreator to the list.

I don't like Kreator, but I still love Thrash. It's odd, I know. :?

But Death is definately a contender. I haven't really heard anyone say they hate Exodus or Behemoth or Cryptopsy yet, but who knows, there's probably a few people lurking around who do.

I haven't seen any bad comments on these bands ever on MR: Ensiferum, Nevermore, Lost Horizon. Problem is not everyone here have listened those bands to make an opinion.

I'll add to Dark Tranquility and Megadeth. Nevermore as well, everyone 3>'s Nevermore.

Guardian, Maiden and a few others are out (because people are gay :P ).

Wintersun is overrated shit, Lost Horizon are boring. Ensiferum go against my political beliefs, fuck Drudkh and their poser rubbish. Melechesh? Race-traitors. Windir and Winds are wank, Nile is pointless noise, SYL are arty-shitwank stuff for emo fags. Kreator suck, the vocalist sounds awful. Exodus - boring thrash, boring groove-metal. There are alot of people who don't like the robotic vocals in cynic.
I just plain don't like them, which is weird since I can tell what they're doing is really good and I normally like technical metal.
