I can't see the point of iTunes, personally. Apple are bastards to make you use it when with my Sony player I can either drag-and-drop or sync with WMP. And ripping everything at the highest setting AND only having 8GB of memory on my player still gives me more than enough space for more music than I need.
You can get special programs for converting WMA to MP3, Fridge, have a google.
Exactly! I use a Mac at the office and all my music are played using iTunes. It looks cool, yeah no doubt about it. But I fucking hate it when I load my songs to the library. Sometimes a few songs of the album are separated because of a minor tweak in the info, and when I try to recalibrate to make it into 1 album, it doesn't. Heck, I even cleared all the info and re-typed and it still doesn't work! For instance, I don't know why but my Siksa Kubur's 'Carnage' album is split into four! It's just a pain.
And sometimes I make a compilation of my favorite songs and take it to the office and WALLA! Everything's split up! All I wanted to do is listen to the stuff on that particular folder and I can't. I have to create a playlist just to listen to it.
Having lesser bitrate helps save a lot of disk-space, but the quality is compromised. I don't complain about it cos hey, if I wanted to listen to something's that's crystal clear, I'll just dump the CD into my stereo. As it is I download quite a lot and feel bad about it so it's unjust if I were to bitch about it. 128 and 192 is good enough for me to enjoy good music. I don't need anything higher, it's not like I'm gonna write a thesis on it anyway.
