I remember having a period about a year ago where I only listened to Dream Theater. Nothing else. I remember disliking them a lot before that period.

Now that I think of it, theres almost always a band or album that I am addicted to. Other culprits of stealing my listening time are:

Converge
Johnny Truant
The Fall of Troy
Nile
In Flames
Meshuggah
Impaled
Aborted
Cryptopsy
Pig Destroyer
Rotten Sound
Agoraphobic Nosebleed
Napalm Death

Last month this two albums were played one after another on my stereo Metal Church - This Present Wasteland, Steel Assassin - War of the eight saints, the track Perfect Crime for Metal Church is definitely my favourite track of 2008.

So Ire Works and the Twilight of the Thunder God track are what I'm currently addicted to.

Some months ago I get addicted by One Rode to Asa Bay, Bathory. I listened to it 20 or more times in a row. That's the most insane case of addiction I've had lately.
I find myself more times stuck with songs that with full albums, and I listen 5, 6, 7 times, over and over again, the same song.

What's the last album you were really addicted to? That you just couldn't stop listening to?

I'd have to say mine was probably Between The Buried And Me's Colors. I listened to that album 3 times the first day I bought it and I proceeded to listen to it almost nonstop for another couple weeks.

Morifade - Domi<>Nation
Dungeon - One Step Beyond
Serenity - Words Unspoken & Dreams Unlived

I can listen to any Rush album, in fact I have to at leats every couple weeks.

I was obsessed with most of the Dream Theater albums in that way too.

Now it's more about songs than albums. Two notables are Can's "Forever Ends" and Dreamland's "Destiny" I've really been listenign to Shining Fury's "Speed of Life" a lot too.

The last albums I couldn't stop listening to were Vision Divine's Stream of Consciousness and The Perfect Machine.

I'm on a big Iron & Wine and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds obsession at the moment.

In the past year I would say I spun Arch Enemy's "Rise of the Tyrant" quite a bit and Draconian's "Turning Season Within"

I cannot stop listening to Virgin Steele, specifically "Invictus" and "Visions of Eden".

Visions has very slowly become one of my favorite VS albums. Production/drums aside (which I no longer have a problem with) the songs on here are amazing, anytime I make up a playlist I just have to hear: Black Light On Black, Immortal I Stand, Angel of Death, God Above God. The rest of the album I listen to alot, but those 4 songs I've listened to like everyday for the last 3 months. What a misunderstood, underrated album.

Axxis - Doom Of Destiny

That's the last album I can really remmber that I've been addicted to. But I'm not finished with the albums released in 2008... so I'm sure there will be one from last year too.

Sabbat

even their 3rd album has been playing.

these guys to me were always just another thrash band. But now for some reason they are much more than that. I love everything about them and I cant stop listening to them.

Next up is Skyclad I guess.
