A little too bouncy for my taste.

Big Country - The Crossing

Fucking Classic. I think rock fans would like this band given the chance.

I've always considered Big Country to be a second-rate Simple Minds... Maybe should I give a try one of these days...

Those two strange covers made me hungry for magic mushrooms... it's some trippy experimental stuff from the 70's or something like that??

Stuart Adamson was in the Skids with the guy from Simple Minds. No question since they probably developed their musical style together that they would be similar. The skids were a punk band. I agree with Stuart that that band probably ran it's course as far as his ability to make the music he wanted, which is why he started his own thing. The few songs I liked from a comp sounded like very dumbed-down BC without Stuarts vocals but a much more cockney accented higher voice that was significantly less musical.

Stuart liked traditional Scottish music it would seem and Thin Lizzy (Black Oak Arkansas?) twin guitars. They didn't even have a keyboardist. They were a real musician's musicians band too. They had one of the most respected Rhythm sections known for their extensive session work. They were David Bowie's rhythm section and both have appeared on countless albums before joining BC. "Back on the chain gang" was one of Tony Butler's credits playing Bass.

Been a while. Still excellent.

Agreed. My all-time favourite Opeth albums are Morningrise, My Arms, Your Hearse, Blackwater Park, and Still Life, in that order I think, although I haven't given Watershed enough listens yet. It's nevertheless a brilliant album.

Klaatu is a proggier version of the Beatles from a 70s swedish band.
Toy is cartoonish electronica from Norway.
Both are tasty.

Sounds tasty indeed, especially Klaatu.

"Toy" by Toy.
It was released on a norwegian label called Smalltown Supersound.
Let me know if you have problems finding it.

What is it?

Been listening to Rush today, mainly Fly By Night and Presto. Adveser's right about the latter, great album with no filler whatsoever, whilst FBN is their best pre-2112.

Norse - Hellstorm

At times reminds me of Dragonlord.. Maybe I'd call it Blackened Death or something like that.

A very underrated album IMO and one of my personal faves.

Never ever tire of this one! How could I as it's pure Metal brilliance! No Metal band will ever release anything as classic as what these blokes did in the 1980s.

Vision Divine - Vision Divine. This is classic record regardless of how many people think it's MOR power metal.

I wish they would fix the god damn dither though next time it's reissued.
