That way overrated drummer from Avenged Sevenfold died.

Nice to know that drugs can kill crap artists as well as fantastic ones, I suppose.

I think I'll go to my neighbors house now and tell him the news and laugh in his face... he says his two drum heroes are The Rev and Neil Pert. I felt like slapping him when he first told me that.

Christ, either I'm overrating Neil Peart or underrating said Rev.

Not a fan of his band, but no one deserves to die at 28, especially as it was of natural causes, apparently.

Yeah, like Brittany Murphy died of natural causes.

Eluveitie posted a video for the song Thousandfold from their upcoming album. It's catchy but nothing special.

Thousandfold video

You can also watch it in the news section on their website - Eluveitie

Beanies and dreads are so pagan, man.

EDIT: Not to mention mascara. Yeah.

Neil Peart is amazing, and Rev is shit. Come on, don't doubt yourself now.

Anyone who looks like this can't do anything other than die :S

Not saying drugs didn't having anything to do with accelerating it. Define natural causes, I suppose. I'm aware I've completely undone my point.

Rowland S. Howard passed away today, 30th December 2009, after losing his battle with cancer.

Nick Cave said: "This is very sad news. Rowland was Australia's most unique, gifted and uncompromising guitarist. He was also a good friend. He will be missed by many."

Our thoughts are with his family and friends throughout the world.
This may not be metal but it's more fucking important than douchebag drummer druggie overdose shit. I haven't heard anything he's done since The Birthday Party but it's still sad.

imo both bands really suck but it's a cool thing for him to do to sub in for a band who's drummer unexpectedly died.

Even you have to admit that DT are far more skilled. It's bad because he admires them and likes their music, when a guy his age with his status as a musician should be listening to non-stop Mahavishnu Orchestra or something. It's like Neil Peart jamming with Blink 182, only worse, because there's no way NP actually likes B182 whilst you know Portnoy's fully serious. Goddamn him.

a7x's guitarists can do some pretty fiddly stuff iirc. He should really sub in for Trivium because their new drummer is terribad and they actually make music I like.

Exactly what I was thinking earlier. Portnoy needs to stop listening to shit like Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb Of God, and Killswitch Engage. Seriously, Mike, you're in your 40's. You're not 16. Listen to King Crimson and ELP and early Genesis and shit. Maybe your music will be better then.

As if In Flames have done anything decent in 15 years.
