Everyday after school I must unfortunately drive 20 miles in bumper to bumper traffic. So, as a method of keeping myself entertained (and not falling asleep), I roll my windows down, and blast metal out my car windows.

Yet, there's only certain things I would play in this situation. Although Blind Guardian is one of my favorite bands, I couldn't see myself playing them at full volume for everyone to hear. I usually put on some thrash, like Lamb of God, or maybe some melodic death, like Dark Tranqullity or Mercenary. So, my question is to all of you, what do you have on when rolling down the streets, windows down?

We had something like this before, like I said back then Children of Bodom (old) and Strapping Young Lad are the best bands to drive with. If you wanna blow your brains out that is.

Whatever I'm listening to at the time, though I will share this amusing anecdote.
Last October I was driving with a couple of my (female) friends in my car, and we stopped at a red light. This was around midnight, so there weren't too many cars on the road. These two frat boys in a big truck pulled up beside us. I glanced over, and saw them looking at us and snickering. So I tell my friends to cover their ears, crank the fuck out of my stereo, and blast Dragonlord at them. They looked rather taken aback at this, perhaps moreso when I beat them through the intersection in my station wagon. So much for petty chauvanism.

FAST FAST METAL!! Actually it depends on my mood. I like a lot of speed when I'm driving. So bands like Hibria, Dragonforce... Sometimes I'm pissed off, so I'll blast some SYL or Behemoth. Whatever I feel like listening to actually. Although, you won’t see me coming down the street with some Yes blaring out of my windows. I like to see people’s faces when they hear metal, preferably brutal death metal.

How could I forget SYL? They're one of my favorites. Well, sometimes I try to follow alongside a car so they can get a good listen, and more so than not, that car will stay back in traffic in an effort to avoid me. Other times I've had "gangsta latins" try and drown me out by putting on some Reggaeton, at which point I put mine loud enough to the point of making ears bleed.

Once I was listening to music with earphones and one of my friends came and took one of it out and put it in his ear. Not a nanosecond passed and he took it and out threw it away and said "What the Hell is that ?".

It was Nattens Madrigal, at full volume.

It just depends on what kind of mood I'm in. Nothing like blasting some good metal in my truck though.

Well, I'm not gonna be legally able to drive for another 3 years, ho-hum. When my mum is driving, I like to blast some Obituary-vomit vocals freak out people on the street. Emperor is good too, or Deicide, or any extreme metal to freak out bystanders really.

If I had a car, probably early Carcass or other grind, although The Berzerker would be a good choice too. Or I could put some Sunn O))) on at max volume and make everyone think the sun's dying...

Whatever metal i have on at the time, is what the cars next to get to hear.

I just love it on a warm/hot day when other cars also have their windows down, and see me stop next to them at the lights pumping Manowar or DragonForce or whatever, and watch them roll up their windows....you know your job is done

and even better than that is when you come alongside a car full of rap and hip hopsters, girls and guys, mostly young, just got their licence....and my metal drowns out their music (my system kicks ass). The scared looks on their little faces is priceless.

There was a time a friend of mine and one of his co-workers were circling a shopping centre car park, trying to find a spot, when another car stole this spot when they had it first. My friend got out of the car, wearing some metal t-shirt, pumping Cannible Corpse from his speakers. The guy in the other car got the hell outta there sooooooo quick and my friend got his parking space
