A contemporary classical piece of progressive death metal. A landmark of a release and a recording that shall be praised for many years to come, by the reasonable.

Well, music needn't always be thought-provoking and profound. At times it needs to thrash the hell out. I don't listen to thrash every day but the purpose of this recording is to loosen things up after so much serious music.

North I will tell you that even last night I had a difficult time getting through even the first disc. It is really an uncomfortable listen for me. But I have to sit through it one way or another and see if I can sink into it, but certainly that was not the case last night at all. I found myself to be deeply distraught after listening to it. A truly Wagnerian alternative to something stunningly profound. I rarely become disturbed by any music I listen to but this recording is particularly troublesome for me I will tell you.

Very interesting. Will have to give it a try again soon...will let you know how it goes for me.

Probably my favorite thrash record. Not a subgenre I go to often but I love this album so much.

North... In regards to Elysian Blaze: Looking forward to it! I will try again in a few days. When I listen to this album the imagery of the totality of the universe in utter blackness comes to mind lite by a fading candlelight. I perceive the recording as an exceedingly difficult spiritual exercise. A kind of ascesis.
In regards to Sepultura: Yes, mine, too. As limited as that is.

Let us sink ever deeper into the mysteries of sorrow and wisdom. For the good man always shares some element of sadness in this world.

Indeed, Husker.

A very long stretch of time since I have last heard this. In those times I did not have the greatest appreciation for classical Norwegian BM. These days I do. And how great it is to re-listen to something that has been missed for such a prolonged period of time.

Well, I will say that I found a lot to like here. I was not expecting to like this as much as I did. I was at my local music store and I was not looking for spending much and I found this, so I thought I would give it a chance. One cannot expect to find treasures at this store. but once expectations are tempered, there is much to like. I did have a very rough idea that I would like it, but to what extend, I did not know. Glad I did. Many well thought out harmonies and melodies to be find here. I did not find much wrong with this release.
