I don't know that much about them outside their music, apart from the racism, and their ridiculous facepaint.

NS is only a small part of what SoL base their themes on, and evene within that they concentrate more on the mystical and esoteric aspects than racism. But yea, if you are strongly anti-nazi, stay away from them.

One of the best bands in NSBM in my opinion.

They're the only NSBM band I like to be honest. I'm also dissapointed no one found my joke funny. I'm quite proud of it.

I am very proud of the few great swiss bands (Samael, Celtic Frost, Gotthard, etc), but don't listen exclusively to them. Of course, if I'm told of a new swiss band I will check it out, because to some extent it's almost a quality guarantee.
Regarding EU opposed to US, I am a staunch supporter of euro metal in favour of us metal.

The US has some of the best bands ever, wich IMO is one of the 3 best scenes along with the UK and Germany.
I think the new wave of us heavy metal, produces alot of crappy an booooring bands..scandinavia, germany and UK for me

Every country produces crap bands, but the US has some of the best bands ever, just to name a few:

Overkill
Virgin Steele
Jag Panzer
Solitude Aeturnus
Agent Steel
Brocas Helm
Iced Earth
Metal Church
Cage
D.R.I.
Heathen
Riot
Forbidden
Cirith Ungol
Omen
Manowar
Slough Feg
Possessed
Exodus
Dark Angel
Hirax
Lääz Rockit
Slayer
W.A.S.P.
Manilla Road

I tend not to care whether a band is British or not.

Occasionally if I hear something really cool and then find out they are from the UK there will be a slight extra w00t factor, but it probably wouldn't raise my opinion of them.

Although, there are plenty of bands that do actually make me proud to come from this country, they should be obvious to people here. Especially coming from the glorious Midlands, home of Black Sabbath, Napalm Death, Judas Priest, and Iron Monkey.

+1

Although I knew Sikth were cockney before I heard them, if you didn't know that you would have guessed they were the lounge act in Dillenger Escape Plan's room with Mike Patton doing a cameo and SOAD being the backing band but even cooler than that!

Oh, I'm into Sikth right now...

There's so much U.S. metal I can't really say I'm proud if a band is American. I do think a lot of good metal has come out of America...there was the Bay Area thrash and Florida death metal. Nevermore and Dream Theater are probably my two favorite bands, and they're both from the U.S. As for Arizona itself, the only band I can think of that's gotten any success is Job For A Cowboy, who I don't care for although the name is hilarious to me. There is that band I posted about earlier called Age of Evil, who I like and think will have a lot of success.

I'm pretty sure that the death metal band Vehemence is form Pheonix, and they are really worth checking out if you haven't.
