The point of having two pedals is you have two feet... why not use both of them? Whats the point of limiting yourself to only using one foot when you've got a whole other one to throw into the mix. No one complains about drummers using both of their hands.

Yeah but they don't always use both hands on just the drums. Ocasionaly one of the hands will be used to hit a cymbal.

That left foot can be used on the high hat, or rigged to a pedal to do what ever you want really.

Well, ofcourse it's the drummer's choice, but I don't like that much double bass too much, because I also don't like a hypothetical drummer playing a roll on snare through the entire song. Short burst of double bass are fine my me, but you can also do that with heeltoe. I admit it's almost essential to have double bass in death metal drumming, but I for one don't like death metal drumming too much.

I think I showed that earlier, but anyways...

Double bass just sounds cool, and as far as I'm concerned that's musical improvement. When I was first getting into metal, I thought double bass was one of the coolest things about metal music.

You can also just be very fucking fast with your right foot, same thing.

Nicko McBrain comes to mind :dio:

But double bass always kicks ass.

Anyway, I also heard that Pete Sandoval uses a trigger for his double bass. So is his speed also influenced by the trigger? Cos i really feel the speed he plays at is almost impossible.
