Strid's a perfectly fine vocalist, he's just a dork. Or "muppet" if the resident Brits prefer.

My only problem with Strid (and most Soilwork, actually) is that forumula that they use. Harsh vocals during the verses and clean vocals during the choruses is so clichèd now that it's not funny. Every band and their mom has done that now, so that formula has pretty much lost all meaning.

I still enjoy A Predator's Portrait from time to time, though.

Don't. The second you start using a formula when writing songs you might as well forget what integrity means. If the song calls for it, by all means, but the try and force the songs that way...nope, won't work.

Plus, metalcore won't last much longer. People are tired of it. It'll disappear soon from the mainstream media.

And for the record, I love Soilwork.

That's only what they started doing after A Predator's Portrait (read: when they got bad). There's no clean vocals at all on Steelbath Suicide and Chainheart Machine. In my opinion, unless you've got two vocalists (the "beauty and the beast" style doom/gothic vocals) or you're Mikael Akerfeldt, you shouldn't be mixing harsh and clean vocals.

Or Jason Mendoca. Or Burton C Bell.
