I get an annoying pop-up all about "Free Mp3 downloads" and "Free ringtones". After a bit of experimentation, I find it doesn't happen with other sites. Am I the only one, or has MR got some new advertising thing?

The program "adaware" has solved most of the problems I encountered with advertisements and whatnot.

Switched PCs... problem's gone away. Funny how it latched onto MR like that, though.

It's just triggered by certain sites, how they're set up and whatnot. I had a problem once were only on messageboards certain words would be double underlined and linked, if you hovered the pointer over them a little window popped up advertising shit, then if you clicked it you went to a search/advertisement site where about 300 windows popped up. It was a fucking pain, but it only happened on messageboards.

With Firefox I never get that problem anymore...

Now I can afford that Ivory Backscratcher I've always wanted.

OE, baby. Operator Error. Internet Explorer only sucks as much as the person behind the keyboard.

Yeah, Firefox is the answer to all those problems. I would rather just let Firfox do it for me then mess with IE. Firefox never crashes, loads faster, just does everything 100x better with much more ease.

Too much porn dude. If you really want to clean your system, you can download AdAware, and Hijack This! In which case, you'd run your machine in safe mode, and while in safe mode run first Ad-Aware and then HiJack This! (Careful with this program, it sometimes shows alerts on processes necessary for the computer to run. Don't delete anything if it looks important). Then go through your program files and delete anything that may look malevolent. Also, deleting WildTangent could prove useful, as it does nothing and is the cause for a bunch of spyware.

Dude, it's a public computer. If it's porn, someone's being sneaky...
